Foodies Unite #10 (trigger warning food) I PITY TOFU ~ Mr. T (probably)

Had a BBQ today with some friends but didn’t take any pics, I’ll have to see if my fella got any. I made a bean salad with a grainy Dijon mustard vinaigrette that turned out fabulous. Light and fresh.

I found a binder of my Mom’s favorite recipes so I’m cooking my way through them. Here’s her beef stew. Barley was a last minute addition and credit goes to @Tony1878 I think.

Extra black pepper is my addition. I’m the only one in the house who eats meat. Best be good because I will be eating it all week.

That’s a wonderful tribute. And the proper amount of pepper. Looks great!

I had leftovers in my fridge, roasted yams and some cooked quinoa, that I wasn’t too excited about. I coarse-chopped the yams, added some leeks and mushrooms, the quinoa and some gf oats, a couple eggs, asiago, some smoked sea salt.
Not unhappy with them!

And forget bar-hopping… this thread has me wishing we could kitchen-hop and sample away :yum::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

You tell Gus and Norma that when kids are involved, Auntie M doesn’t show up with sugar free anything!
I have a christmas cookie recipe I think might redeem me in their eyes, but prob not one for Pop Pop :cookie::orange_heart:

That is very touching that you are cooking your way through your Mom‘s cookbook! I hope it brings many happy memories back to you, and smells!

Your own veggie burgers/ patties! Looks very yum! Nice base that you made up to stick it all together!

I visit a mom, a dad, a three and four-year-old a lot. I always take bags of cookies with their names on them.
It started out just for the two children and the mummy said ‘where’s my bag?’
Now they all get a bag. Last time I heard that a lot of the cookies disappeared, and it was the mummy who ate them. Or maybe the Dad, not sure.
Nobody has eating problems there, everybody’s in good shape, they eat very, very healthy.
When asked what he wanted for supper the other night the 3yr old little boy said ‘broccoli and apples’.

I applaud the parents for also letting the children eat cookies with real sugar.
