Crowded salads are meant to exist!
My mind is seriously so messed up today that I thought I only had jalapeno olives. I don’t have those at all, just blue cheese and garlic. All garlic today (that I thought was jalapeno).
We got Thornback Rays caught Thursday in the Solent from a dude called Jeff (from Willesden, London!!!) who followed his dream and moved here to open his fishing and fishmonger store. He catches the wares himself Sunday to Tuesday then sells Wednesday to Saturday. He plied us generously with the most delicious hot smoked salmon, delectable marinated anchovies and anecdotes and personal recipes.
We halved them as they were monsters and cooked in seasoned flour and butter. Drenched in lemon caper butter sauce.
The very best. ![]()
I need Jeff to come to my town. Looks amazing…
Satsumaimo chocolate cake. Made with japanese sweet potato, heavy cream, eggs, 100% baking chocolate, vanilla, and salt.
I thought the sweetness level was perfect but I’m sure that a little honey or some dates could be added without any issue. The texture is very much like a mix between a fudgy brownie and very thick mousse.
This piece is topped with a mascarpone/greek yogurt mixture, and a bit of vanilla powder on top.
EVERYONE NEEDS Jeff! ![]()
Honey mustard chicken , mash and green beans . I’ve been so hungry today … probably cos I missed lunch at work . … anyway yum ![]()
Mooie rabarber!
Stamppot from turnip greens (wiki translates them as rapini btw, it is some form of brassica and I love ‘m) and sweet potatoes and spuds. With a hamburger coming from the organic place’ own little herd of Hereford cows.
Rapini greens with cheese in fresh ravioli is my favourite. I love them too.
Right now in Japan, Dubai mochi is super popular, it’s the filling of Dubai chocolate in a mochi. It was pretty good, but the vanilla cream frappe thingy was the nicest drink I think I have ever had.
