Foodies Unite #2

Part of my intentions for the week included practicing kindness to myself and appreciating imperfection. Thus, I give you, my patch-worked from store bought crusts, mince pie (with homemade filling). It’s beautifully imperfect, just like me. Next holiday I won’t forget to check my pantry even if I think I have enough of everything, though!

Tuna Dip is coming in a day early this year. Good thing I made a double batch.

It’s wifey’s favorite so I ordered her one. It is really good too. Too much icing for her, but to me the icing is the best part :yum: She shouldn’t have to bake her own birthday cake. And I can cook but I’m not much of a baker.

I bet it’s good! :yum: And so lovely of you to order the cake! I agree - you shouldn’t have to bake a cake for your own birthday!
Although I enjoy baking, and have made a few for my own birthday, it would be nice, if I didn’t have to make it every time, haha!

Aw, thanks! And I love my butter dish, too! I got it recently when I decided to convert to being a butter on the counter person, ha! It’s my favorite color in Fiesta ware, lemongrass.

Home made. I’m learning to make proper (Italian-y) pizza base. So far I’m very happy with results. Slightly chewy, thin, crunchy.

I’m starting my first proper Thanksgiving dinner on my own :flushed:

Ohh yay🤤
I have a huge one because of course we feed an army over here. I love it.

Looks great. It’s so hard to find good pizza these days. Is it hard to make yourself?

Whats the name of that German cake? I’ve never seen it before. I am not a cake expert, though :yum:

My wife usually makes it. I don’t bake. It’s very popular over here. Here’s a basic recipe. I’m sure there’s tons of them out there. I personally love the coconut frosting the best.

We just call it German Chocolate Cake.
