My first sober thanksgiving since 17. Lots of sparking water and I made mocktails with ginger ale, lime, and mint. Didn’t even have time for wine with all the cooking. Day 59 sober
I started at 7am! Luckily my best friend came over and Sous chefed.

Happy Sober Thanksgiving to you too :yellow_heart:
I feel like Gus napping on the couch is a mood

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Thankful for all of you whether you are celebrating in US or not, or somewhere else in our big world!
@Chiron I actually wondered last night what you were cooking! I knew it would be special!
@anon27760155 yum on the pies! Fun for you all to partake in an American Thanksgiving!
@Callie99 you have one of my favorites there!

Haha YES! Our desserts aren’t even pictured! She did this middle eastern rice and pine nut dish and the mashed potatoes and I did the rest. I did do a big version of my apple crisp- but we bought a pie. I’m not very good at sweets.

She was drinking vino and I just did my mocktails. I am VERY hydrated so lots of energy. Haha

Best part was everyone else did the dishes!!!

Dessert.
Butter with a little of my home made sugar free banana blueberry bread. It came out great.

It’s hard to see the all blueberries through the buttah

The salad! It is one thing I usually make/am asked to bring for Thanksgiving! Yours looks delicious. I cannot tell what the dark part is, whether it is blackberries, prunes, cranberries, blueberries, or what… it all looks delicious, your whole feast! Congrats on your sober holiday, @Callie99 !

What’s Swede? A Swede is a Swede is a Swede perhaps. Excuse the caps. Ahh. I googled. It’s a rutabaga.
I prefer not to blitz it up. I used to blitz up a lot although never blitzed up gazpacho. Just prefer chunky for the individual flavors. How did you spice this? Your soda bread looks lovely. @Hailstrom

Absolutely. Different flavours and textures. I much prefer it that way too.

Don’t ask how I know this (not sure myself tbh), but Swede is short for Swedish Turnip. And is rutabaga :+1:

I used ground coriander, whole cumin seeds, garam masala, chilli flakes and fresh coriander. Worked really well :+1:

My vegan dinner I made for Thanksgiving since I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat all of the other fixings for our family gathering. Mac n cheese, bbq pulled pork style oyster mushrooms w/ onions and peppers, and corn bread. Everything was very good.

Oh wow. It looks amazing and I totally wish that was my dinner right now. And tomorrow’s dinner etc. I personally have struggled to get macaroni cheese right as a vegan and that one there looks gold standard.

I don’t know if you do boxed mac but both Daiya and Modern Table are pretty fantastic. I am not Vegan, but I love them!
