I hope y’all are still in USA!
Wow on the soup and those baked goods!

@Dazercat I’ve made a good pumpkin/ cheddar soup many times that looks like @anon27760155 soup and also has B_ _R in it. Uses canned pumpkin.

@Dazercat why?! They are not overrated!!! I never had any until a few years ago on the eat coast on some salmon and it was the best thing ever!

For decades I’ve kept smoked salmon, a good bread, long shelf stable, no preservatives, dark bread ( German ) , cream cheese and capers on hand for something quick and easy for drop in last minute guests. It’s worked great and I’ve used it many times. Hopefully w lemons on hand.
I like capers. But not so much to use them other than that specific purpose. To me they are just another vehicle for salt. Which although it’s necessary for life … and particularly for athletes like you @Runningfree and even people like me Somewhat athletic and who need to pay attention to getting some rather than none.
Even though a lot of the pickled foods are health foods, like sauerkraut being a probiotic etcetera I’m personally steering more away from them.

Just for the record I like capers.:rofl::rofl:
And I like capers on salmon.
But I’m too lazy. And I’m the only one that would eat them.
And they all roll off after the first bite. :grimacing:. But I know how to fix that.
Just wanted to set the record straight.
