Ate it all while working on my oddly hard puzzle. Fought an urge to have that after dinner smoke! Onward to day 5 nicotine free!

Hey foodies  I’m back! Ha ha. Finally feeling an appetite and getting in the kitchen. Lunch is some white beans and brown rice stew with veggies and ham and these awesome Parmesan crisps I found at Target. Made the hubby a sandwich, too. With my birthday coming up, and thanks to inspiration on this thread, I’m making a big ol’ batch of meatballs tomorrow!

Sear your steak properly FFS

Teach us the way, oh master. Really, what do you do?

Heat the pan, hot, no oil. You oil the steak not the pan.
Season steak with salt, but not pepper - pepper will burn and turn bitter with the heat.
Is your pan hot? Probably not. Heat it some more.
When it’s really hot place your steak in and listen to the satisfying hard sizzle it will have. Leave in place for one to two minutes (depending on thickness of course).
Turn steak and try to place it on a new surface in the pan which is hot. Did i mention the pan needs to be hot?
Cook to how you like, but anything past medium rare is not cool. You wanna be cool, right?
Remove steak from pan and let it rest a few minutes before eating.
Enjoy.
