Foodies Unite #5 (trigger warning food) TAKE ANOTHER LITTLE PIZZA MY HEART!

My fella made dinner tonight. I had a leftover grilled chicken breast and he made us chicken sandwiches with melty havarti, lettuce and tomato with tater tots. Sweet of him after a super busy day for me getting the house tidied up.

I noticed. But thatā€™s okay. My next pop tart will be posted. I play PT roulette. I bought a 60 count variety pack. I donā€™t have them in their original boxes, so I never know what Iā€™ll get next! And it hasnā€™t been working as well as I hoped, never get the one I was wantingā€¦

Salmon, veg, rice.

Got this salmon recipe off 4chan ( /ck/ ) many years ago. Not the rice and veg part, just the salmon. Dude touted it as a sure way to get laid.

 Okay, but donā€™t hold me to the random 4chan dudeā€™s guarentee!!

Ingredients:

  • salmon
  • cilantro
  • fresh limes
  • sesame seed oil
  • seasonings: sweet paprika, salt, pepper

The basics are that you are supposed to oil the salmon, add salt/pepper/paprika, add chopped fresh cilantro, add fresh lime juice. Broil salmon (for the novice: put the rack up near the top of oven) for 5-10 minutes? Depending on thickness of salmon and desired doneness. This is hard to give a time.

I like to add a little extra paprika and salt on top of the salmon after the cilantro, and maybe extra oil depending on how much I already put on it. After cooking, I usually add extra fresh lime juice. Random dude didnā€™t exactly give perfect instructions, but itā€™s a pretty easy recipe even for the novice, which most people in this thread are not.

If I have rice with the fish, I like to scrape the scant amount of ā€˜drippingsā€™ from the fish pan into the rice, so adding a little extra oil on the fish before cooking is kind of nice. Also having the some fresh lime and cilantro with the ā€˜drippingsā€™ in the rice gives a nice blend of flavors.

If you try it, let me know! It is literally my most favorite salmon recipe (not because it gets me laid, just because I like it  )

Iā€™ve since moved, but plan to take my little guy on a trip this fall. I havenā€™t been since dad passed in late 2019, then Covid hit! Canā€™t wait to be back. Iā€™ll be sure to eat here in Halifax:
 :yum:
