Foodies Unite #5 (trigger warning food) TAKE ANOTHER LITTLE PIZZA MY HEART!

I’m new to a patty melt… do you cook the burger first then kinda add it to bread and continue to cook grilled cheese style?

I start cooking the onions & once they are like 80% done, I add the patty (frozen) in the same skillet. Then when the patty is done, I move from the skillet to the griddle and assemble the sandwich like a grilled cheese. It’s kind of messy but ohhh so good!

One of my long time favorites :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: yours looks fantastic!

Yum! Hubby would love this lol.
I should have tried that with my veggie mushroom & wild rice burger tonight

Hmm I recently bought a pie iron for camping. Maybe a patty melt would be tasty in that… I could grill burger on the Q, then add to bread & cheese in pie iron and cook over campfire

@Claire_Quit I identify very much with finding comfort in prepping things ahead of time, I don’t do it often but do cold hard boiled eggs sometimes, or cut up 2lbs of strawberries for when my boys visit. Feels so good.

Right now have been working on prepping my gym bag the night before with great success and a great reduction of stress.

Ya know. My favorite kind of places for food are some good dives.

Shepherds Pie at Connelly’s Pub.
With a blue cheese salad.

I use to do some damage here on the malted barley if you know what I mean.

Whole Foods or Sprouts is probably where I got it. I like that brand for others as well.

Didn’t get a pic but was grateful to eat my Mami’s special tuna salad on crackers tonight. So good to be home.

I always envied ppl who make nice looking, varied foods for themselves. That’s why I don’t usually come to this thread lol
I make nutritionally sound, sometimes delish, but sometimes not very appetising looking foods and mostly the same kinda things. I’m a routine person. So I’m pretty proud of my changed breakfast this week:

Protein cheesy blueberry pancake, popcorn for extra carbs and coffee. I’m still hungry tho.

I do relate to what you’ve said; sometimes I’m feeling reluctant to post dishes if they seem basic or unappealing. So I’m glad you shared your thoughts. It’s made me think…
Don’t ever hesitate to post, even if you feel it’s “not very appetizing looking” as you’d mentioned (that is, if you want to post). I personally love seeing all food, no matter how it’s prepared or presented! Food, even if not stereotypically thought of os “pretty” or well-plated etc, is beautiful in itself for the fact that it nourishes our body, and sometimes brings us comfort & joy. And sometimes seeing others foods no matter what it is, or how it looks, can give others ideas for foods to eat.
There’s beauty in the everyday, beauty in the simplicity.
Always share (if you want), pressure-free

@Salty @Faugxh

Yes for posting everyday food! :hugs: It would be nice to know how to present, I admire people who do. But I can’t, so SLAB IT ON!:sunglasses::ok_hand:t2:

I’m intrigued! Sounds and looks delicious. Is that cheese sprinkled on top? Or do you have cheese mixed in? I love savoury component to breakfast :yum:

Oh wow I really did not expect to generate such traffic on this thread! very cool! :v: so this is a high protein flap jack mix my neighbour got me from the states for plant sitting during her holidays. I added some low fat cheese into the mix and another scoop of pea protein and that’s nutritional yeast (flavour + b12) on top and blueberries.
the mix consists mostly of wholegrain flour and oatmeal, diff protein sources and salt and stuff, so I am pretty sure I’ll just make my own once I’ve used up the pre-mix.so it can enter the routine lol

I must say I am defo a fan of celebrating healthy foods and the fact we all want to do go by ourselves - but I seriously would not want to look at pics of most of the stuff I eat on the internet. not that it’s not nice to eat, but it just doesn’t look good. that’s just me though.

@Olivia I don’t even SLAB it ON, I merely just POUR it in or FILL it up. I eat mostly from a single big bowl. I have nice bowls though. Mahlzeit! as we say over here. :joy:
