I’ve never had Domino’s I don’t think. But I see there is one not too far away, half hour drive or so. Perhaps I need to try to see if it’s good to compare. For science, of course!
Proud that I’m meal prepping for a busy week in office. Batch of roast local veg (Brussels sprouts, broccoli, peppers, zucchini, garlic) plus 1/3 cup cooked sprouted farro. I’ll add the tofu cubes that are baking now, and before eating, I’ll add beets & goat cheese crumbles. I usually eat it all cold like a salad but sometimes I slightly warm in microwave before adding beets/goat cheese.
I’ll also add that my husband and I have been named pizza snobs in the past and we’ve been lucky to have some great pizza, especially when we lived in Tucson, Arizona. Great pizza joints there. So we would say this is pretty good pizza and we’re grateful we can get something palatable in our little town!
Breakfast Tacos.
Potato, shallot, tomato, jalapeño, 3 pepper Gouda, and egg.
Side of fruit. Berries.
Iced green ginger turmeric tea.
Yes, it is katsu with a miso sauce, usually hatcho miso, a speciality of the area I am in!
Ya’ll make me feel ashamed all over here microwaving a hot pocket for dinner
Some yummy looking foods above!
I’m sorry, couldn’t help myself
I used to really like hot pockets, then sometime, many years ago, they changed their recipe ever so slightly and I couldn’t get behind that change in flavor. It was like…20 years ago or something, so yeah.
@Dazercat eating out of the container is perfectly acceptable when it’s yogurt or something close. Once you get to the 2am fridge visits where you just stand there and eat, then you know there’s a problem.
@salty Domino’s used to be meh, but they’ve upped their game over time. They have some good stuff. I’ve been labeled a “pizza snob” too, @RosaCanDo, but hey life is just too short to eat bad pizza.
I almost posted the Jim Gaffigen hot pockets gif.
But I restrained myself.
I see that didn’t happen with you.
But I’m going to watch it.
Great minds
BTW. Love Jim❤️
We are all here to learn how to restrain ourselves. I just haven’t reached the elevated level that you have, oh great one.
This clip is >5 minutes of gold and I seek to spread its greatness through the internet whenever it is even minutely appropreate to do so.
thats about how i felt too! Burnt my friggin lip, meanwhile i was thinking did they change the recipie from 20 years ago? This tastes like shit. The sad part was i had delicious left overs in the fridge i had completely forgotten about.
Mmm, butternut squash with real brown sugar and butter. Makes my body feel energized and refreshed after eating it.
I hate it when that happens!
Eh, great pocket LOL!
Hang on, are pop tarts and hot pockets the same thing?? We obviously don’t have those. Maybe it’s a good thing
Definitely not I think the only thing that is similar is that it is a packaged food with something stuffed in the middle.
Poptarts = poorly made, highly processed, pastry with a tiny bit of filling in the center and maybe some hard frosting on top. Generally eaten as a breakfast food, but can be eaten as a snack since they’re a bastardized version of a pastry. Can be eaten without being heated.
Hot pockets = a breaded lump filled with some kind of savory filling at a much greater rate than a poptart. A lunch or dinner thing unless it specifically says “breakfast”. Needs to be heated before eaten.
As a funny aside, about 15 years ago, a friend of mine who is from Helsinki came to visit me and she was very keen on trying poptarts. The disappointment was literally palpable after she tried one. I tried to warn her they were crap food.
I used to dine out all the time before I had children. Now that they are both out of the house I thought I would treat myself to a nice lunch. ( The kids and I did go out but it was more about finding something that all 3 of us could eat with differing dietary needs). So, this was my tasty sober treat to myself.
Looks delightful! One of my favorite things to do solo is go out for a nice meal. It’s rare, and that’s probably why I appreciate it. Haven’t done it since getting sober. It’s going on the bucket list! Thanks for sharing.
This sauce is going ony home made pasta.
Its made from San Marzano tmoatoes from my garden. Never used San Marzanos before…they will be the only tomatoes I grow or use here on out. Totally get the hype behind them
The picture does not do justice to the deep red color of the sauce…the flavor was symphony in my mouth!
100% from my garden…
I am super pleased with this creation today! Mexican style corn chowder (dairy free except for toppings) with chorizo and poblano chiles. My first use of the corn stock, and yesterday I made a chicken stock which I used here, too, 50/50. I cooked the veggies (onion, garden red bell pepper, garlic, potato) in the chorizo drippings, including half of the sweet corn. The other half I added in later after using an immersion blender to slightly purée the veggies. Also added back the chorizo minus some for topping. Remainder of the toppings were queso fresco, scallions, cilantro, avocado, crema and a healthy squeeze of lime. So glad I made enough to freeze a couple servings.
