Foodies Unite #6 (trigger warning food) ANOTHER ONE BITES THE CRUST!

Eggs, avocado tomato, Kiwi!
@Diamonster and @Sabrina80 You two are probably right on the name of the potatoes. I live in an area that was settled by Germans and many still speak German to one another although that is changing quickly as many newer generations are not teaching their children to speak German. For as long as I have lived here the local German women have made a Hot German Potato Salad for functions etcetera. It is boiled potatoes, mixed w a little vinegar, maybe a bit of sugar, and a good bit of bacon and in the old days a lot of bacon grease… and served warm. It was really good.
What was at the restaurant last night ( not a German restaurant) sounds like, and looks like, what your Bratkartoffeln is… fried potatoes with bacon added.
(Maybe it is part of the preparation fight you were talking about)
It was tasty, just not what I was used to, or expecting, to eat, same w the green beans… lots of salt, oil, bacon and seasoning and where was the green bean flavor?

@Sabrina80 I copied your pancake recipe
@Alycia your salad, and of course your lemon blueberry looks wonderful!
All the food looks great, everyone’s food.

Editing to add that the German Potato Salad that I would have at functions was made to serve 400- 700 people and it might be w those quantities it was just easier to boil instead of fry the potatoes…

Steel cut oats to start the week. I had some apples go soft so I decided to stew them with cinnamon and a bit of lemon juice. Stirred in pecans and breakfast is served. Dash of half & half, too.

Forgot last nights dinner. I’m not cooking much lately.
Wifey wasn’t too happy with this. But my doctor would be. And I loved :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: it.

Is the stone at the bottom of the basket?

Yes, it sits in the bottom of the basket and you take it out, preheat it in the oven for 10 minutes and put it back in the basket so it radiates heat. Such a great addition to my kitchen! It’s actually terracotta/ceramic and shaped perfectly to nestle in there.

Sounds really good!

I’ve become a fan of the instant pot over the crock pot actually! I can do the same stuff but wayyyyy faster. Two weeks ago I made a pot roast in under and hour.

I use to do that a long time ago. It always turned out fantastic. Enjoy. So tender this way.

Leftover frozen split pea soup. Now this is a soup that freezes well.

Ezekiel sprouted muf with my leftover, barely brown, avocado. :yum: I fanned it so I can’t see the brown
