I had a day off yesterday so I treated myself to lunch (and I had a gift certificate, bonus!)
Although, I was a bit displeased about this place recently. I attempted to take my kiddo to eat there last week; usually he only ever wants to eat at Boston Pizza to get his “Bugs & Cheese” pasta but he was excited to try this new to him place, which is a restaurant in a hotel. I looked online and they had various menus; lunch, dinner, lounge, kids etc. I checked out the kids menu and they had pasta. Yay! So we get there and said we’re on a mum & son date. Sat down and she gave us the QR code to scan the menu. She said go to the lunch menu. I said, oh and I see you have a kids menu. She said, no, only during the evening. I asked if he can have pasta; she said there is pasta primavera on the lunch menu (all adult meals). I asked if he could have plain pasta with butter. Nope. So I was a bit surprised by that; you’d think the pasta primavera would at least have the sauce added later, but who knows. Little guy quietly whispered that he’d like to come back another time; I felt bad, I apologized for leaving without ordering, but said we’d be back another time at supper. And off we went to Boston Pizza for lunch lol. I know it would be ideal for kiddo to be less picky and just choose something off the adult menu, but at the same time, if I’m paying for a meal, it would be nice if it’s something he actually wanted. I hate to complain about restaurants but that is my little rant

Sometimes when you’re exhausted and mentally depleted, your standard latchkey kid meal is what you need.

The dream was altogether one that was out there but thought I’d share this part of it

Ha! Oh my goodness, I have had dreams like that! A recurring one is where I put a roast in the crockpot and when I open the lid when it’s supposed to be finished cooking, the roast has completely dissolved and it’s just a thick liquid left behind!

Hot sauce makes everything look so pretty! It just pops. Maybe I’ll try a super mild version. I think I still have “hot sauce trauma” as Tobasco was used as a punishment to hold under our tongue when we were kids if we told a lie or said a bad word
A site I use often for ordering similar items has a few I’m eyeing up. Maybe even something like this
