Dear Foodies, I love you. I’m on day 24 and wish to vent a compliment. Funny ha! I am a pretty good cook and know presentation is important. You folks make every meal look delicious. Right now I am cutting up crispy apples and spreading extra chunky peanut butter just to survive my sober day. Apples cut into ugly pieces as fast as I can and peanut spread quickly to get it shoved in my mouth. Maybe in a few weeks I can send pics of my skills. Right now I am hungry. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Got dragged to a small Mexican place for lunch and had to sit at the bar since there were no tables available. My first instinct was to order a drink but that thought only lasted for a couple seconds.

Good work getting past that trigger and situation. Plus the food looks pretty delish to this Mexican! :mexico::taco::tamale:

I don’t think I even looked at the liquor bottles again after sitting down. They had a soccer game playing and sort of zoned into that.

I wasn’t sure what to do with those onions though lol

Eat them! The white part gets a sweet roasted flavor when grilled like that. Or cut them up and put them in a taco.

This is how not to eat a tamale. This is a US president, RIP Gerald Ford, in San Antonio, Texas, Who did not know that he was supposed to shuck the tamale before he ate it. Take the corn husk off.

I first saw/ate a tamale when I was 12 visiting family in California. I took my first couple bites with the husk on and was like what is this? No one in the room said anything which kind of bothered me later on when I thought about it. They’re just gonna sit there and let me eat husk.
