Foodies Unite #7(trigger warning food) GNOC, GNOC, GNOCCHI ON HEAVEN'S DOOR!

I wanted to try konjac noodles during me diet, but a lot of people discouraged me and said the noodles don’t taste good.

So, you had a positive experience? Maybe, I should try them as an alternative to wheat based products.

Coming off a migraine day and a half and finally have an appetite. An heirloom tomato, thin sliced cheddar and salami on water crackers is doing the trick tonight.

Thanks,
I was trying to use up my £££ at Heathrow so I bought a bunch of coasters. Gave some to the kids. And they were easy to cram in my carry on.:uk:
Can’t wait to go back.

At The Greenhouse tonight.
@Alisa :wink:
CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP
avocado, pico de gallo, queso blanco, sour cream.

It wasn’t Texas style. But it was pretty good.

To drink: A very berry NA Mojito

ROASTED SEA BASS
potato purée, wilted spinach, charred broccoli, cipollini onion, preserved lemon vinaigrette

They forgot my onion
Wifey was kind enough to give me one of hers. I love cipollini onions

I’m all squashed out. Finished the last with chicken mole and rice.

Tried fried squash a couple days ago and only had corn muffin mix. Came out ok but not as crispy as I wanted. I’m sure another bag of them will show up at some point. lol

Hi Matti,

they taste like glass noodles…
Maybe it was a good brand.

Beside asian dishes that are savory, or in cold salads or soups they will taste good. Wouldn’t try Spaghetti bolognese with it

If I want Italien spaghetti more lightly, I replace some noodles with zuchhini noodles.

In my opinion konjac it is not an alternative to wheat, as it has totally different macros…
I replace wheat with spelt or rice noodles.

But these konjac noodles are a good option for a low carb / low calorie meal :muscle:t2: To be filled it will need some protein.

They are already on my list for the next grocery at the asian supermarket

Ah, OK. Thanks for the information!

I’m going to try the spelt noodles.:+1:t2:

I’ve read rice would contain too much sugar?

Doesn’t it depend on what you want?

I won’t talk about the preferences for every product again. What one chooses, depends on the person, taste, own preferences, intolerances, diet, typical dishes, whatever. That’s it.

You’re totally right.:+1:t2:

I’m just struggling at the moment with my choice of fixings and try to find the best solution for my self.

I’m going to make Greek marinated chicken skewers with peppers /mushrooms/onions. If you make these often, prefer on grill, or in oven? My guess is I should do on grill

This was tasty. Noodles in miso broth with kale from my window box and the steak was stir fried and then I added soy sauce, mirin and peanut butter.

Grill would be best. I also prefer to do the meat skewers separately as the cooking times are different for veg and chicken. Just my preference - I don’t like mushy veg!

This inspires me to turn the rest of my peanut/chili noodle dish into a brothy dish.
