Change is hard

When I post a YouTube, it just says YouTube and I can’t see what I am getting ready to post until after I post it and it is hit or miss to delete it, if it double posted or I posted the wrong thing. What is my workaround around this?

Not to mention every time I hit return it skipping a space. That’s on me. I have to learn not to hit return because it’s going to Skip a space.

PS I have an iPhone and I have never had trouble pinching the pictures open when others have.

Of note with that comment and my earlier comment is that I only use talking sober in the Safari browser or on a Windows computer not in the app

After I upload a picture if I want to go and describe it at the top of the picture, I can’t get back up there. I used to be able to and now I can’t. What is my workaround, obviously write what I want to write before I upload the picture.

I believe this forum runs as an instance of GitHub - discourse/discourse: A platform for community discussion. Free, open, simple. @HoofHearted can u confirm if this is the case?

If so, it’s probably a bug with Discourse itself I can imagine. I’d suggest submitting a bug report to that GitHub repo.

I actually know most of the technologies Discourse uses lmao. I wonder if I can submit a PR to fix some bugs myself lol

I’m having a hard time uploading memes to the memes thread and its causing me distress, memestress if you will.

I have to go to my settings and change the navigation bar from buttons to swipe. Only on swipe mode can I upload an image and upload to thread. If I’m on buttons mode, when I upload image, i cant upload to thread because the arrow is on same level as go back button (left).

My phone back button interferes with the post counter on the bottom right. I used to be able to access the navigation through the counter and jump to a certain post or date. I now have to manually scroll through the thread. It’s a bit laborious with the big threads with up to 2500 posts.

Android bottom navigation bar blocks buttons

So I found the cause of this, it’s due to Android’s edge-to-edge interface which lets apps use the entire screen space, with the status bar and the navigation bar overlapping the content when you’re using button navigation instead of gesture navigation. I thought this was handled properly everywhere, but looks like on Samsung with Android 15+ devices it isn’t. I personally use a Google Pixel, and the generic emulators that you use for development didn’t have this issue. I was able to replicate …

Hey guys.
I hate to complain. But……
I’m having a hard time posting pics. Mostly memes. So I don’t know how big a deal it is. But a lot of people do like the meme thread for their recovery.

Anyway……
Many times my pic won’t load. I got to delete message. Get out of the App. Come back on and try again. I had to do that for my last 3 memes in a row. It happen to me last night too. It’s actually been happening but it seems to be getting worse. I shut down my iPad. See if that would help. And shut down my iPhone. It didn’t help. My internet connection is all good. I don’t have trouble writing messages. Just posting pic. Memes. And it’s really sluggish.

Thanks for all you guys do to keep this place running. I wonder if anyone else is having these problems.

@Robin same issue for me with my Google phone. I go to attach a pic or meme or gif and it either freezes, kicks me out of the thread or reloads my message and sometimes some of my text is missing. When the app freezes I have to leave the app and restart it.

It has been happening much more frequently now.
It does make it hard to attach things or play memes

Some times the reload happens even without me trying to attach anything. May just because I tried to add a link to another thread.
