Friday Thread #2

Ummmmm…no.
Never.

Caseys is really only good for a quick slice on a road trip. It’s not the best, by any means, but for middle of nowhere gas stations, it’s not bad. Plus I worked at a Casey’s for a couple years, so there’s some nostalgia.:joy:
There was a place in storm lake for years called ‘Honey kissed pizza’ and I want to open my own and steal their idea. It was so good I would road trip from Dsm (2.5 hours) just to get one.

When you find a good one it’s worth the trouble. We might we heading out west next year for a driving trip to Yellowstone so maybe we can look it up.

Pre-emptive strike. Boom.

Too soon. If its within 12 hours of Friday, that may be acceptable, beyond that, you’re just being silly.

I’m checking out, or at least closing my laptop, at 11pm, which actually is nearly Friday here. In think that makes it Friday for my European friends across the channel. So happy weekend everyone! I might be back with you from my phone if I can’t sleep :upside_down_face:

Haha oh god don’t.

I’ve organised an online dance party for my belly dance friends this evening. Hadn’t realised the date! Eeek.

I have always flipped the script and said Friday the 13th is lucky! At the very least I feel excited about it.

I’ve actually had a pretty good day so far so I’m going to take it as a lucky day too!

Its rainy and gross out here. Flannel pants and cozy hoodie sort of day. Have a big container of wheat rotini with ground turkey, onion, carrot, diced tomato, garlic, basil waiting for me for supper. Cooked it yesterday and its always better next day. 2 more hours of work.

Obviously not going anywhere. I have a backlog of recordings of films I haven’t seen and feel like I should have seen by now, or have heard good things. Help me pick?

-Clue (1985)
-The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019)
-Do The Right Thing (1989)
-Ratatouille (2007)
-Demolition Man (1993)
-Mad Max (1979) // The Road Warrior (1981)

Leaning towards Ratatouille, something light.

Still got his run this morning but he hates damp and cold. A master of getting warm and cozy.

ha, I just edited as you responded to say thats what I was leaning towards! Something so cozy and comforting about pixar films…

In culinary school, they made us watch ratatouille and then create our own version of it. Movie is adorable-Patton Oswalt is perfect for the voice of Remy (the rat)

Oh, I like him! Didn’t know he was in it.

I actually know absolutely nothing about the movie, aside from the general premise (bumbling chef gets help cooking from rat?), and that it’s supposed to be a top-tier Pixar release. Glad I’m going in blind, not sure how I missed seeing it for 13 years.

I’m looking forward to it. Nights like this are great - dark, cool, window open and can hear the rain while me and the maestro are warm inside under the blankets

Let me know what you think! & I agree…fall nights like that are the most enjoyable especially when you have a pup to share it with!

I felt the need to put a proper full stop to the end of my work week today so got home, took a shower, changed into joggers and did a short meditation. Seemed to do the trick. I had a really light dinner, just some chicken and vegetables. My stomach is better than it was a week or two ago, but I’m not ready to be eating anything too heavy just yet.

I read a couple of chapters of my book and listened to some music and now I’m going to settle in with a movie. I noticed yesterday that Parasite is now on Prime and I’ve wanted to see it for ages so very happy about that.

I really like this idea of putting a bookend on the work week by doing a few things immediately to transition into weekend mode. I too often let work thoughts linger in my head well into the weekend.

I’m going to try this myself in about 3 hours and 21 minutes.

Also, Parasite is a great flick.
