Friday Thread #2

Checking back in after reasonably successfully hosting an online dance party. It’s obviously nothing like the same as a proper get together but nice to see friendly faces and have a bit of a wiggle :dancing_women:

BTW getting dark at 4 is ridiculous. We should petition to make the sun keep better hours.

Add my name to that petition! Although something good about less daylight is my chickens don’t get up so early and start screaming for their food

I left work early to clean the garage. Took 5 hours but now we can actually fit a car in there. Tomorrow is my super secret date night with my wife.

Does this mean you thought it was boooooring?

How’d you like it? I normally hate subtitled movies but it was so well done I couldn’t stop watching

I really liked it. I didn’t think the “twist” was all that crazy, but it fit well and the movie kept my interest the whole time.

Subtitles don’t bother me. I have subtitles on at all times, even when I’m watching English shows…Haha. I think my hearing is already going at 35.

Yep, loved Parasite. I went in relatively blind so all of the twists were unexpected. Okja has been on my watch list for ages so I’m more keen to watch that now.

Were you able to draw a line under the work week?

Well – Ratatouille was an excellent movie. It gave me the feeling that I would expect from a Pixar movie. They really do a great job with their films. There’s a lot I missed out on though! Pretty much everything since Finding Nemo (and Finding Dory + Toy Story sequels), I’ve not seen - even the “big” ones.

I still find monsters inc 1 soooo funny

Edit: and Zootopia!!! :star_struck:

I have seen Monsters Inc, that one is great. Haven’t seen the 2nd one though.

Zootopia is a good shout, that’s one I have heard is one of their best but never saw it.

@Jennajen I think I did see Wall-E, but I believe it was back in my heavy drinking days, and was drunk at the time, so of course it’s like I didn’t watch it at all :grimacing:

@Jennajen @TMAC Idk how many sequels Monsters inc has. I’ve seen the 2nd one and did not like it at all. It just wasn’t funny. One reason might be that it leans heavily on American college/university life so many things are lost for international audiences even if the general concept is surely relatable. Anywho, that one was waste of my time.

Will be looking up wall-e :+1:t3:

Yes, but not in the way I had planned. I was wanting to just come home, meditate, and get into relaxation mode.

Instead, I was on the phone with my brother who lives in Alaska for an hour. Then made last minute plans with my in-laws for today, so we had to run some errands last night. I still got my run in but not until 10pm.

It wasn’t as relaxing as I wanted it to be, but it helped shut the work brain off just as well I suppose.

Gotcha!!!

Have you seen ‘Up’ then?
I love pixar movies so much.

So the Friday thread starts mid week, then nothing on Friday? Slacking @Englishd!

I’m logging in to say happy friiiiday and wish you all a good weekend. My online dance party seems to have turned into a weekly thing so I’ve got to get shit sorted for that.

This has been on my playlist getting me in a good mood today :dancing_women:
