Great update, I’m crossing fingers for your wife ![]()

Oh don’t apologize for a non Friday post…this is great news and I’m also keeping my fingers crossed.
Boss’s boss boss…jeez. a lot of hoops but I’m excited. I like the thought of a forever job…hopeful and optimistic for you guys.
Thanks for the update ![]()
Definitely a lot of hoops for sure. Back in the day, you would either have a panel interview or a loop all on one day, both in person. Nowadays, with remote work being more ubiquitous, and times zones being a factor, these types of interviews take much longer.
Hopefully she’ll get it so I can finally reveal where its at. ![]()
Have an amazing Friday and awesome weekend everyone!
I am going to go to a birthday on Saturday and playing frisbee golf for the first time on Sunday.
Happy sober friday Matti,
Happy sober friday folks!
I had to look up frisbee golf, sounds fun @Planipennia ![]()
What is the rest of you folks doing?
I’m hanging around on the couch, it’s 7:15 a.m. here, the dog is snorring on the carpet, the cats are fed and sleeping around the house, a pot of tea and sunshine outside. No appointments today, so working at my pace and pausing, resting, napping as I please for me ![]()

Today is the 13th anniversary date of buying the farm, it’s the first time this date is just for me alone. Still grateful I payed out the ex last year.
I’m going to celebrate 13 years at the farm like a farmer: mowing, rototilling, seeding ![]()
Weather forecast for sunday is rain so it’s a good time to seed.
Wishing you all a happy sober friday & weekend ![]()

Happy Friday. It’s a footie weekend over here. And… My other half got me an ice cream maker (Ninja Creami ![]()
![]()
) as a surprise gift, so I’ll be trying that out pretty sharpish! Apart from that, I might do us a spa day at home including foot, hand and face masks. Generally, for this weekend, I fancy watching a few movies, completing a cryptic crossword or two and to just eat nicely, relax and spend some quality time together… ![]()

@erntedank congratulations on your farm anniversary. Lovely way to celebrate. I do hope the weather is awesome and you have a wonderful day
@Tragicfarinelli oooh a ice cream maker. I absolutely love mine …a ninja would be a great one. Have fun with all your yummy creations.
It’s Friday and I feel like I got to start the day. My sis is coming to visit tonight. We have a baby shower to go to tomorrow. I am hoping I can go and stay for the whole thing - we shall see
Not much else going on.
Have a wonderful day my friends

Happy Friday gang.
Got some work to do today, got my weekly gym appointment. This evening, my nephews are coming over to do music with me.
Tomorrow, gonna go visit my Dad and perhaps play a round of golf. It’s been a while since I’ve visited him, I feel its time.
Sunday I have band practice; preparing to perform at the Northwest Folk life festival in Seattle again.
Unusually busy weekend!
My wife had an second interview at a different place from where she had been, and she said it went really well, in her words, “like really well, like I’m hired well!”. Only problem, requires relocation to NJ or Vegas. NJ is a no go, and vegas… ehhhhhh… I guess I’d probably have no issues getting a job there, considering my current line of work, but vegas? It is only a 4 hour to Disneyland, so there’s that… but… Vegas? Idk man.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for option A, which the final boss battle has been scheduled for April 4th. So, we wait, again.
Good news! Vegas is, well, Vegas. Honestly just another metropolis and there are loads of suburbs and neighborhoods. I was born there and have lots of family there. It’s pretty easy to avoid some of the craziness. Some edgy culture but plenty of music venues, which is a plus! I hope you get your ideal outcome though. Relocating anywhere is a huge challenge, I’ve been there for sure.
Love disc golfing! It’s a lot of fun. I’m not great at it but it’s a good way to get out in nature. I’ve been to some lovely courses. Enjoy!
Think Grand Canyon and all the national parks! And yes, Disneyland here or there.
Yes! Red rock is a lovely spot. Lots of nature to enjoy.
Are you worried about Vegas because of the gambling? (I’m just guessing)
I worked for several years in Macau (in China), which in terms of casino gambling does several times the revenue Vegas does. Casinos are huge there.
I enjoyed my time there very much. I don’t gamble at all (not even scratch tickets), but it didn’t affect me in any way. I took in the culture, the museums, the local travel (which in that neighbourhood is a rich scene - mainland China is right next door; Hong Kong is a short boat ride away).
I came back to Canada because there was no way I personally was going to get a career job there - I was teaching English - but if I’d had a job with the right money and benefits, I could have easily stayed.
I’ve never been anywhere near Vegas so I don’t know about the sights or culture there (or the neighbourhood), but at least in terms of living in a city whose only economic engine is casino gambling, I can say that Macau was a nice place to live. Friendly people ![]()
I’m making assumptions here though, you may have been thinking something completely different ![]()
@HoofHearted keep us updated! Waiting until april 4th for the final boss battle?! How can they string candidates along for so long?
Dealing with work stress, self induced stress, family drama. My anxiety is high. Im trying to deep breathe. I cant control people
You can get tickets to see the Vegas Golden Knights and gaze up at that 2023 Stanley Cup championship banner…

My Friday is calm, I slept in, finding my center and my peace again. Probably will go out to dinner with my fella. Probably watch something. Nothing major. I’ve been doing quite a bit of bird watching as on this windy day here there’s been a lot of activity. Saw 6+ bald eagles outside just soaring around. A pretty red tailed hawk on my tree and plenty of other birds. It’s definitely springtime. I’m grateful. Found some appetite to eat and that’s good. I guess in a back to basics mode today. No big pressures. Sometimes we need days like this.
I’m a Seattle boy through and through, anything above 90° and I’m dying! Being there in summer, when its pushing 115°, does not sound fun at all.
The gambling thing is not an issue, I already work in the casino industry so knowing how the sausage made, certainly makes sausage unappealing. ![]()
I left the SW for that reason. If you can avoid it, do! For people like us it’s miserable! I don’t know how my husband does it but he’s a self proclaimed desert rat. Sweating through my professional work clothes and needing a change half way through the day, no thank you!
Of course! The heat in Macau was hard for me to bear too. When it gets hot and humid I feel like I’m melting ![]()
Ah the sausage metaphor! I too get to experience 115 degrees. I know one thing for sure. That is hot!
