@jennyh sorry that work was not so great - hope your Friday turned around for you and you managed to have a wonderful start to the weekend. @salty how did your ventures go today? Hope you had a fantastic day and enjoyed your outing. Chess battles sound awesome - have fun @HoofHearted How you been Dan? Haven’t seen you around these parts lately. Hope you are staying warm!
Friday night check in - Been a decent enough day. Still carrying this bug around. Thought I was getting over it but it is sneaky. Glad I made some vegetable soup and toast for dinner and now finally catching up here.
It’s been quite a week. My wife unexpectedly and adbruptly lost her job this week, this has caused a great deal of stress for us both, but tonight, we are calm and focused on what’s in front of us. We have a fire in the fireplace, the Animal Crossings on the TV and taking it one day at a time.
This is my 330th consecutive sober Friday and it never gets old! I love thos feeling!
So very sorry to hear about wife’s job. Grateful you two are better with tonight.
Enjoy the restful evening watching your show by the fire.
I am enjoying the sober days and nights too …what a blessing we have.
Good to hear from you Dan!
Sorry for the jobloss and the stress, that’s a crappy situation. Sending you & your wife good vibes
Your evening sounds great. Here it’s saturday morning and I too have a fire in the fireplace.
Thanks Jazzy Feeling very jealous of your vegetable soup, hope it was as yummy as it sounds.
My Friday got steadily better and even back in the gym.
@HoofHearted really sorry to hear about the job. That must be such a worry for you both. Your partnership always comes across strongly in your posts, you must be a huge support to your wife. Glad you both have each other.
Yeah, it was only a year ago she was in the same spot. Sucks, but you know, she’s relieved, she did not like her manager and that caused a great deal of stress for her.
Happy Friday and happy birthday to me! I sure hope 43 is an improvement on 42. Well, I can’t knock it completely but the rollercoaster of a year was pretty exhausting. I have always looked at my birthday, on the last day of January, as my personal New Year’s Day. So I’ll spend some time like I usually do writing about my intentions for the year (adding on some initial thoughts I have) and thinking of ways I can make more peace and joy type things happen. I’ll be moving my body a bit but also resting and enjoying doing things I love that I’ve been neglecting, like knitting and reading. It’s going to be a lovely day so time outside is in order. I think tonight we will grab dinner at a great taco truck that is out tonight and then go play games at the basement old school video arcade like I did last year. It’s tons of fun but also pretty low key. I like their duckbill bowling alley.
Some tentative plans this weekend but nothing to stress over or over think. Perfect.
Hope you all are having as good a Friday as possible, and maybe even a nice one!
