Mine is already over and it was great 
Mounted the catnet on the balcony, filled plant pots, started to wash down the tiles (need a pressure washer for the stains so this has to wait a bit until my hand is fully recovered), sat in the sun with purring Missi on me. Pure joy 
Had nice, healthy lunch, spent 1 hour in the bathroom (washing & putting conditioner on my hair takes time with only left hand 
), petted my cats in abundance, had a nice walk.
Iâll be in bed ridiculously early as Iâm tired.

Happy birthday Rosa! I have really enjoyed 43, and the wisdom that is coming with that age and experience (I am not counting the part where we got a bit too complacent and I ended up pregnant. No one is wise all the time

Happy Friday all, and the end of the longest month ever. I always feel bad wishing time away, but I do struggle with the darkness of January.
We are actually out tonight! I havenât been out properly since getting pregnant and sober. Luckily I am very confident I wonât drink. I suspect there will be a few overdoing it tonight, particularly as Dry January comes to an end. I suspect we wonât stay late.

My current plan for my birthday is to drive my father to the urologist and wait there for a few hours.

Happy Friday gang.
Work, gym and jamming is on my list today.
But thereâs something I need to do that I am not looking forward to, some serious adulting.
Thereâs a group of boys (13-15 yrs old) that has been kicking doors of homes late at night in our neighborhood. Theyâve targeted my house, repeatedly over the last 2 years. I set up a video camera and got them kicking my front door last night at 10:30 PM while we were in bed. Sounded like someone was breaking in, terrified my 5 year old. Then they came back a few minutes later and kicked the garage door, this time damaging it; also on video.
I know who 2 of the boys are and where they live. Other folks in the neighborhood have been terrorized by these boys for years too. So I called the police who said all I can do is talk to the parents.
So⌠that is what I am gonna do. I am going to show them the videos which clearly shows their kid, then Iâm going to show the damaged door. Then give them 3 options: cover the cost of a new door which costs $1,200, or have their kids work off the $1,200 debt by pulling weeds at my house and anyother house that they terrorized, or try their luck in small claims court.
I haaaate confrontation so this is out of character and very uncomfortable, but if I donât, these kids will only escalate their behavior. Ugh

Omg âŚthese boys are awful. Crazy that they have been doing this for 2 years!! Iâm sorry - I know I would have been terrified being awakened to that.
Good luck with talking to the parents. Hopefully they are receptive and will take you up on your first two options. Sucks that law enforcement canât do something with property damage.

Oh shoot i didnt realize its the end to dry january. Im so glad i dont have to rush out and get plastered this weekend. Im busy living my best life sober

Friday nightâŚwoooooyeee its been a long week
Im ending on a high note. I accomplished alot at work and felt in the groove. We submitted 6 program budgets with narratives to a funder. Its been a combined effort for the last 2 weeks. We navigated the Trump spending freeze and chaos which ensued tues-friday. Weâll see what happens next week. Wrote a kickass memo that should be audit proof. Navigated chaos and managed 5 different people with competing deadlines and didnt cry. Plus mental health is decent and got exercise and sunlight.
I didnt get to the gym today. Ill hit it hard tomorrow. Nervous for my first timed 8k outdoors sunday. Luckily the weather should be 57 partly cloudy

Yes, it was busy out and about (although any night out what would probably seem busy to me now). Great that you didnât even realise about Dry January though!
Pregnancy is good at the moment, thanks. I have left the horrible sick and tired stage, and into the uncomfortable but essentially fine stage. I seriously flagged last night though.

Alright, so went over and talked to the Dad. Let him know what his boys had been doing and that I had it on video. He basically was like, yeah, sounds like something theyâd do. Then he went on saying that boys do dumb things and we also did dumb things (boys will be boys), yadda yadda yadda. I agreed, I did dumb things too when I was a kid, but what they are doing is beyond dumb, itâs becoming criminal. He assured me it wont happen again. I said, Iâve already contacted the police, they recommended talking to you first, and if it does happen again, we are free to press charges for trespass, harassment and damages. He re-assured again, it WILL NOT happen again. We exchanged numbers and shook hands.
The best part is, I didnât tell him where I lived, so⌠To avoid legal consequences, they will have to stop harassing EVERYONE in the neighborhood. Check Mate.

Glad it went as well as it did and hopefully the boys will listen . Be proud of yourself for facing a confrontation head on and handling it like a pro.
