@Techpro92 there are meetings for 12 steppers right around the time when people are getting off, my friend. You can replace the computer time at home with a meeting some place…lol or a virtual meeting.
Hey “if nothing changes, nothing changes.”

Hey “if nothing changes, nothing changes.”
I dont think I can completely give up video games for an extended period of time. But, im shooting for a couple weeks.
I watch alot of movies and shows. Which i don’t do while drinking oddly. I have my own plex server where I have my own personal movie/TV/music library i setup.
Next week i plan on starting to work out again. I use to be a big gym nut in my younger years. I just wanted to get a week of soberity in first. To let the foggy feeling and what not aside a bit.
Also, want to get back into doing car audio. Main reason i havent done that in about 8 years is cause I made drinking a priority rather than being outside doing stuff to my car.
But as far as AA stuff goes. Im going to start with my old church group for support. Bible study and what not.
My schedule is all over the place. Sometimes I get off work at 6pm. Other times its 2am. Im going to go to my old church for support. I told my father id go with them this Sunday and talk to our pastor.
My dad went through a alcohol problem in his early youth. Luckily he figured his stuff out well before I was born.
there are meetings on zoom starting every half hour all day long every day of the week
You doing good, waking up today day 4, you got this! We all travel our own sobriety paths. You at the beginning of your path. Keep gather up tools for your sober toolbox. Sounds like you off to good start and doing things different to be successful. You got 4 days and that is great.
the early day of get off alcohol is the hardest and our Brain
will be waiting for any moment it can to get you to pick up.
And when it does, have a plan to get through those moments, like you are right now. We all rooting for you and your success! Go to AA meetings or not, this is your path. But keep in your mind for those moments when you need extra help not to pick up that first drink.
As one is never enough and neither is the bottle.
TS is my forum of AA and works for me. And yes I have also been to AA online meeting not sure it my thing. In person scary the HELL out me because I’m very much invert but know it is there for me, if I need it and leave it as open option.
I’m going to share this with you, not to long I was very much one the edge of caving into having drink, cars in hand to go get that bottle. And I did something different that time. I picked up my phone and found a online AA meeting to go, to it stopped me on that day and by the end of the meeting, I was good and was confident, I was not picking up that day. Corny sounding, right? but it is very much true.
Guess what I’m saying is take in the advice offered, decide for yourself to take it or leave it in your toolbox for another day.
Lots have been where we are in this battle with the bottle. And this place has literally saved me.
Keep it simple and do whatever it takes to go to bed tonight sober. And we can deal with tomorrow when it gets there
Oh thats good to know. Ill book mark that.
Well, i made it to the end of my 4th day. Got home and laid down to watch some Netflix. Fell asleep almost immediately because I woke up at 3am and wasnt able to fall back asleep.
And ill be looking into AA meetings online. I already book marked one of the websites I was suggested for when im going to try it.
Im still groggy from falling asleep soon as I got home. Didn’t even make it fifteen minutes of the show I was watching. Was an amazing two hour nap.
Yes, that is awesome! Waking up to day 5! No hangover, feels awesome, right? I hope you have good day! You got this! Strong stay! and the number one priority today is going to bed sober tonight. I will, do the same.
without my recovery i am usually locked up or running from the cops
i advocate for the 12steps so much because it made my life from a living hell into what it is today and i want other people to know that this program saves lives @Techpro92 there is a solution to your problem and those people and books contain that solution.
the drinking isn’t the problem, drinking is the solution to a problem that can be fixed by going through the 12 steps so you don’t even want to drink anymore. it’s amazing man, food for thought
Thanks, I’m not at all against AA at all, not one bit. I’m so happy that you have found your path. The one thing I have learned is we can’t bet this demon alone. We need a community of people that understand, that gets what we are going through and supports us. One day at a time. Stay sober my friend!
I have always enjoyed speaker meetings, and they are usually open so the whole family can come
Here’s to day six. Around 8 30pm I took two melatonin with already feeling exhausted. Managed to sleep about 5 hours without waking up. Feeling pretty good currently.
Yes. That is wonderful! 5 hours of solid sleep not bad. Keep going strong! You go this!
My day is just starting, supposed to be hot here again😭. But will in the morning time outside. This summer has been the best, I have had in longtime. Not that it been that interesting but I have not spent it hangover lie in bed begging to live. Just keeping it simple. One day at a time.
You’re doing really good @Von. For me, I’m enjoying the not being dope-sick (withdrawling) off of heroin, kind of like a hangover
I live in AZ, so the heat… yes I can relate with you there. Thankfully I live in a small town in the mountanous area of AZ so it’s a little cooler than in the valley. Its called Snowflake, AZ.
That had to be very hard. Glad to hear you are coming out the other end.
I lived in show low AZ for a very short period then Scottsdale. I missed the rain and the mossy green. So back to my home in the PNW, I went, and here is where I will stay, lol. Unless of course someone wants to give me home in Hawaii then I’m out.. Hope your day goes well. @JVKE
Its absolutely beautiful here today. I almost feel guilty sitting inside watching a show. Went to church today with the family.
show low is nice when I want a little social interaction, but the small town is great for people with mental health stuff, like myself
smalllll worlddd
It has been quite a couple decades since I lived there, I remember it being a very some town. Must have grown since then not shocking.
My hometown where I live, it is no stop building and take all the trees out.
My heart breaks for the PNW, progress is destroying what makes this place so special.
Yes, it is very small world
How come you left? If you don’t mind me asking
