@DogLoverForever77 @JazzyS thanks Friends . Tobacco is a tricky one. Mostly it smells terrible and I can’t get far enough away from it, other times it smells wonderful and I can’t run fast enough away from it hahaha . Stay strong Friends. Smoking bad Fresh air good :no_smoking::flexed_biceps::slightly_smiling_face::balloon:

Hey, I managed to pick up cigarettes 3 months ago, and this morning I had my last.
Went from 2 to 10+ a day.

Just looking for ideas,
How long till the nicotine is out the body,

Just some ideas to help break it.

But, i know also, im over it.
Its my last physical let go.

3 months isn’t long at all, maybe i just pray and call it a day.

Do simple check ins.

This is just a repent, i guess.

A true let goo.

It officially takes 1 week for the nicotine to leave your body. After that its all just mental withdrawals and habitual withdrawals. For these its the same as for any addiction. Make new rituals and change up your routines so you don’t associate tasks with smoking. For me waking up was the hardest as the cigs were the first thing I would go for. I used a hypnosis app along with the 2 mg nicorette gum and would pop that gum in right when I woke up. Would then do a workout and then start the day. Driving was also a huge issue so I would do shorter drives and park in a lot to get out and stretch my legs in a store (as I had timed all my routes for how many cigs I could smoke from A to B. Also helped to chew the gum here or eat fruit as I could not smoke and eat at the same time.

Read through this thread. So many great tips and techniques that others have used. I know that straws or tooth picks are great to chomp on to get rid of the oral fixation.

Just keep pushing forward – it does get easier! :muscle ::hugs:

Sleep lots. Chew on straws and gum. Sugar free mints. Keep the hands busy.

So, yeah, havent desired a cigarette.

Even when the mind is stressed a bit, has a thought.

Like I said it was only 3 months.

But yeah.

Thank you, God.

I’m two days off ALL of my Nic replacement losenges. It’s been a bit dicey in those moments I want something to ā€˜hit the spot’, and I realised that I drank in the same way…pursuing some sweet spot / feeling / endgame. I’ve had a Fisherman’s Friend in those moments, the liquorice kind because I don’t overly love liquorice so I’m trying to avoid making another ā€˜pleasure’ a substitution.

I’ve quit really slowly this time around in the hope it would be gentle and stick. I’m also a bit ratty and caused a few household arguments yesterday :face_with_raised_eyebrow: well, apparently it was me…. :face_with_monocle::squinting_face_with_tongue::smirking_face::lying_face:

Thanks. Day three started with a fisherman’s friend and 45 minutes spin. :bicycle: Hopefully this will pass, I ate a little too much chocolate last night wanting to get to that ā€˜feeling of something’/dopamine that you can’t ever reach or touch.

Forgot to share my latest milestone. I think this is maybe the furthest I’ve gotten in several decades of trying. I will only fail if I quit quitting. Standing strong
