Tried to go heavy on deadlifts today cuz i was feeling alright, barely pulled 415… damn it doesn’t take long to lose the upper end.

Benched today, went up to 225 barely got 6 reps… damn my strength fell off a cliff

Battling a shoulder injury and some spinal issues. If the shoulder keeps getting better i might be able to get 225 back in the double digit rep range again. I guess I’d rather lift less and be able to keep lifting if that’s how it has to be, it’ll just take getting use to.

I don’t think I’m gonna bench heavier than that anymore. I think probably more more than 3 plates a side on squats. I’m just gonna do slower reps on everything I think. My days days off chasing 1rm are over I’m pretty sure

I’ve been thinking about this comment and I have two thoughts. One: I think you can definitely achieve some very excellent results with slow, concentrated reps, the method is ancient and proven, beyond lifting too. and especially if you increase reps at the same time.
And my second no doubt genius comment that you’re dying to hear (I’m being self ironic yes) is: everyone has their specifics, their limitations, their very own world in which they can do stuff and their own rules and allowances. There are no two same weightlifting or fitness or health journeys. I don’t mean to take away from your disappointment and how hard it must be to face your injuries, I could not imagine. At the same time, there is something incredibly powerful I find in really accepting and working with the body we have, honor and care for it, rather than chase that 1rm, trick the ego into going for the next shadow trophy. There’s no top of the mountain. Only the beautiful arduous journey.

Saying this with humility and respect for everyone here, as it is hopefully read. Aiming to be supportive. :slightly_smiling_face:

Kind of a silly one. But I’ve been getting into this lately.

VR rhythm game where you dance around like an idiot slashing at boxes with light sabers.

Silly, yes, but it’s super engaging. Gets me off my butt and doing like an hour a day of super fun aerobic exercise! Heart rate pumping and steady sweat not optional.

Very insightful, I appreciate your response. I drank my best training years away for really pushing heavy. I’m okay with how things are for me, I’m coming to accept it.

@5th_dimension. Keep your form spot on and you might go longer, it’s tough on old joints no room for errors .

Finally found the fitness thread and I think I’ll be frequenting this section of things lol

Here’s my latest runs from Monday Tuesday and tonight. Done on resistance of 7 out of 10 for all of them.

I didn’t have time for the full 40 tonight but but still showed up for myself and it was still a really solid workout in the end even though I almost bailed. So relieved that I followed through thanks to my husband’s positive support :triumph:

Monday

Tuesday

Tonight

Think the next thing I’m going to do is return to using the lose it app tomorrow to make sure I’m actually getting the correct intake because things get a little bit wild West otherwise.

Always starts as being way too little calories and then end up on the other side of the spectrum of course as a side effect. Gotta keep my relationship with food in check as it’s rocky at best

/ramble, have a great night lol

@5th_dimension thank youu! Starting to see the real life logic in that kind of thinking and working for a bigger goal takes…work lol! I’m alright with that and not angry anymore for the first time in I don’t even know honestly. Feels good to have done it for me after it’s all over, or heck, even after I just get started with a solid workout lately, and that is keeping me coming back right now :ok_hand:
Also! Having so much more energy and focus to actually do a really good strength or cardio routine just feels great and I kind of feel like I’m investing in real progress finally for the 1st time in a while

Just a casual 150lbs for reps today, getting stronger :muscle:t3::facepunch:t3:

Nice slow deep (light 225lb) safety bar squats… kinda in between traditional and front squats. I feel like these hit me harder than 400 lbs ever did.

Threw in some calf, back, bi work too. Feels fucking amazing

Thank you @Faugxh for the food reminder idea. That mixed with the meal replacement I added today really helped me get the best workout I’ve had in a hot minute!!!

Today was no cardio technically, BUT did a 52 minute fast paced HIIT flexibility & strength training workout; I feel the power and I’m keepin it lol :muscle:

I might have listened to a singular track for the entire hour and I’m here to say I regret nothing lol

Here’s the track, it’s pretty :fire: the ghastly ā€œall eyes on meā€ remix

Here’s me in my homemade gym rat lair (there’s never enough fitness supplies :eyes:)

Have a good night all! We got this :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I mean, d’ya know what day it is?

Side vent: just because you cover your bench with a towel doesn’t mean you don’t have to sanitize it after
