Had a pretty good quad/ hammy day in the gym today. I’ll get another good lift in tomorrow. Meeting with the surgeon and ortho dr on Monday. Surgeon for a hernia and ortho for cortisone shots in the shoulder. I’ll lift until the hernia surgery but then i think I’ll be shelfed for 4 weeks or so. Keep on exercising all, stay strong.
Decent chest/bis workout, i feel good all in all… still working out kinks in my new program. Nice slow, controlled reps
Sometimes the only equipment you need is your own body……to increase the resistance and build muscle mass just become a fat knacker like me!!
Being knocked down for surgery on the 18th… maybe I’ll get less fat while i can’t lift, at least that’s my plan🤔
You look like you’ve lost weight.
I found it all again
How do you all do it? How do you all see success and improvement and get into a good routine with working out? I am struggling with this. I want to be healthy inside and out. Now that I am on my path of recovery, I also want to make sure that I am also making some progress in this area. I am not happy with my weight and my diet sucks lol I love weight lifting (hate cardio unless I have good music lol). Years ago I lived in the gym. And now I can barely make it to the gym once or twice a week
How do you all build a habit? I have lost my touch when it comes to fitness…
First pic waz probably the most fit time of my life I’d say. I’m 5’10" and I was about 175lbs here BUT everything revolved around fitness… my entire life. The 2nd pic is my heaviest I’ve EVER been at about 275lbs. This was about 3 years ago. And the last pic is me now… I have lost about 45lbs.
I try to find balance with working out. I used to have a very unhealthy view of being healthy lol and I want to do this the right way in recovery. Any advice would be helpful! I know about proper form but I don’t know how to build muscle. How to challenge my muscles. And I don’t know what muscle groups to work out with… I usually do abit of everything in the gym lol not seeing results. PLEASE HELP!!! Lol
Thank you
I just started following a program and committed to it, no matter what i was getting my four lifts in each week. I started with strong lifts 5x5 and then moved on to Wendlers after the first 6 months. I just made sure i got them in, even when i didn’t want to. I’d tell myself that if i wasn’t feeling it after 10 minutes I’d leave. My diet sucks but I’m good at getting my protein in.
My wife loves beachbody, if you like those workouts. I did insanity and t25 before. T25 is cool, I’d never do insanity again.
Hi Dana,
There’s no secret to it, just keep turning up, keep going and as @Dan531 & @5th_dimension have said go when you don’t feel like it. Those days where you can’t be bothered or don’t feel like it, they are the best workout days. Exercise releases endorphins, Endorphins make you happy and happy people make the world a better place.
There are 2 things you can’t outrun, a bad diet and old age, one of these you can control the other you cant. Good physiques are made in the kitchen before the gym.
That said remember the only bad workout is the one you didn’t do.
Dan mentioned Beachbody. Some of their programmes are tough, insanity is quite literally insane, I’m doing it in and amongst my gym and martial arts training. My fitness is improving although I still feel like I’m dying every time I press play on one of the programmes.
This is a natural thing, obsession with being healthy can lead to unhealthy obsessions, eating disorders and much much more. Fuel your body for what you do with it. Calorie deficits are good to start with but you need to fuel your body with the right things.
Your first pic is a real power pose, you look healthy In Yourself but a little drawn and fatigued, either because you just finished a workout or because you were drained of anything giving you the energy to work out.
Well done on the weight loss, I know how hard that is, I’m going through it, been there done that and bought the XXL t-shirt to go with it! You’re looking fantastic now, you can see you’re healthier in your skin and your eyes.
Results take time, just stick at it!
OMG in so much pain right now!!!
First proper session this year. Flexibility is coming back too! I know it’s a long hard road but I’m walking the path to greatness!
The Bag is suspended from a 10ft high frame so kicks are about 7.5 ft roughly, not bad for a 5ft 9 fat old man!!
Nice job. You’ll be back to a lean, mean, ass kicking machine in no time.
Love yer pics.
That’s the plan @Jasty2, 4 months to drop the weight and get back into proper fighting shape in time for the EMA Championship Qualification Tournaments.
Thank you @Cherry_Kisses, not sure my groin is thanking me for the strains I put it under today so I’ll take any compliments I can get!
That bag will never mess with you again!
Nope, it soon stopped talking sh*t once I started. Although with how sore and achy I am I’m not quite sure who was the real winner!
