Good work! Iā€™m curious, how much time do you give yourself between reps when building up to a max like that? How about time between sets on a normal workout day?

I was going about 2 minutes of rest once i hit 225. If i go longer I feel like Iā€™m losing energyā€¦ itā€™s weird, i know i should rest longer going for 1rm. Normally i rest 90 seconds between sets.

Negative spilts was the name of the game and I totally won!! Took a detour to see if I can add an extra mile to my normal run in the mornings and time wise itā€™s doable.

What app are you using?

Iā€™m running it as 8/6/3 right now. All accessory work Iā€™m targeting at 10-14 rep range.

Iā€™m really excited to be signed up for my first half marathon and my first in person race since 2020! @anon9289869 Itā€™s official :confetti_ball:

Awesome! Iā€™ve been looking for a half myself. I need something on my calendar or I seem to slip a bit.

Thanks! I wasnā€™t feeling celebrating it. I slipped at 9
Months last go but Iā€™m not going to this time.

@Gorden I do the virtual races and challenges on runkeeper to help me stay focused but most of the time I just run what I feel like. Hopefully that day Iā€™ll feel like 13.1 miles lol

Eeeep Iā€™m so excited for you!

You have definitely inspired me to start running again once my knee is healed. I was training for a race in 2020 that was cancelled and I stopped doing more than a mile or two after that and focused on the bike instead. I miss the simplicity of running.

I was so sad about all the races that I had in 2020 that were canceled. There arenā€™t that many options nearby but thatā€™s ok cause travel!! :tada::confetti_ball: how is your knee?

Do you have any specific future ones you want to travel for? (Other than 4 corners that I just saw you mentioned in your thread lol :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)

The knee is as frustrating as ever :joy: it is doing a lot better and it makes me forget that itā€™s still healing. Went to kneel down in the garden and still donā€™t have that full range of motion back yet.

After meeting with my surgeon a week ago, it makes sense now that I couldnā€™t ride the bike on the trainer looking at the different ROM need of a spin bike vs my gravel bike on the trainer. A spin bike wouldā€™ve been much more doable but I have been actually able to get on the trainer for short periods of time this week and working up! Lots of increased PT and getting better every day.

I havenā€™t planned any yet. Iā€™d let to see how this pans out. Not sure if the hubs wants to go for the adventure and if he does go he better not be a grump! If this one works out then Iā€™ll probably start with my surrounding states. Colorado would for sure be for next year and back home in Texas. Go see some family and run a race and there is a state park in Arizona Iā€™d love to visit. It would be cool to do one in each state but I feel like that would take some serious time

Knee surgery is so hard. Iā€™ve heard itā€™s one of the harder surgeries to recover from. Hopefully you will get your ROM back soon. Itā€™s been 5 years since my last one and it still gives me trouble but also my doctor said I shouldnā€™t run :woman_shrugging:t2::joy: I ainā€™t letting her take my joy though

Let me recommend any of the REVEL series (runrevel.com). They are downhill, they bus you from the finish up the mountains to the start. I have done marathons down Mt. Hood and the Rockies with them. They are awesome and very well done. Iā€™m thinking my marathoning days may be over, but I may do a half through them still.

Iā€™m not sure if the app that you use to post your times is accurate about the elevation? If so, Iā€™d urge you to find hills, even a stadium where you can run up and down the rows of seats. When you get to places not so flat, youā€™re gonna regret not having hill training! On the other hand, you could do all your out of state races in Florida. Itā€™s flat coast to coast. Iā€™m not sure how they keep the ocean on the right side of the sand!

Itā€™s runkeeper and itā€™s gps based so Iā€™m guessing itā€™s pretty accurate. Thanks for the advice! Iā€™ll look for some hills and I know the high school has the football stadium if need be

Couldnā€™t make it to the gym so home workout it was :ok_hand:t3:
