Upper day before work this morning- thought I’d whip out the girl guns for the gym selfies
Holyyyy moly- I just don’t understand how people can deadlift insane weight like this. I’ve been at it about 18 months and my pb in deadlifts is still so small.
At first I thought it was because I’m a female, but then I changed gyms and there are girls lifting like 275 pound deadlifts and it’s blowing my mind.
365 pounds is awesome
Today is gonna be the best day ever!!
- I got a PR (I really thought I was stuck on my 5k time)
- I almost got negatives. Mile 2 tripping me up again. And
- I almost had a 10 minute mile!! My fastest ever is 9:54 and that was when I ran only the 1 mile and my goal was just to go as fast as possible. This was on mile 3!!!
Hot damn, I’m feeling that runners high. Can’t get this feeling from drinking!! I hope everyone has a great day!!
Ps- ANDDD it’s the first day of the Halloween season
Thanks. I use try and get 2.5 x’s my bodyweight dl. I was close but never could quite hit a 500 dl. I’d probably really struggle with 405 right now.
18 months is a great start, you’re young you’ll be able to do whatever you set your mind 2. Nice girl guns
Niceeee! You crushed it!
What a great way to start the day
Speaking of Halloween season.
Had to pop into HD yesterday - September 30th - and nearly fainted. I believe my expression accurately reflects my thoughts of “can you believe this bullshit?”
Not a single Halloween decoration to be found. I mean me and Santa are tight, but dude go home for now. Likewise, nutcracker, you bastard.
The gasp I just gasped!! How dare they your face is how mine looks after I closed my mouth
Thanks @Twowaymirror. I really feel like I crushed it! Pretty proud of me now to get some fuel and go help my friend move
Same. I’m a dude and the max deadlift I could even do when I was actually strong was like 250 lb. Most of the time nowadays I don’t go above 135 and even more commonly i do one legged dumbbell deadlifts, sticking to about 20 lb per hand. I even look @Dan531 's weights and my back hurts lol
Got a good one in today.
Cable bench
Lat pull downs
Ab series
Military press
Cable trunk twists
Kettle bell swings
Db back flys
And a few sets of wrestle ups sprickled in there.
a 6ft animated singing santa! Ho Ho Ho . Nutcracker has a look of you T only joking friend. I do love your WTF expression. .
Not to brag…… but I went to my HD today and they have Christmas decor right up front but as I moved to the power tools they had a different section that was Halloween. So at least they had SOME Halloween stuffs
Felt decent today got some mileage in. Really hoping to finish sub 2 hour half marathon on November 6th. As long as my knee feels good enough where I can actually train it’s very possible. God i love my treadmill… gotta find a name for it I think…
Fredmill the treadmill. Too easy?
Suffering from a pinched nerve in my hip that causes pain and weakness in my lower back, butt and all down my leg. I’ve had it many times before, it takes a few weeks to go away, I’m down one now.
I miss training so much. I tried just doing some arm stuff the other day but nothing going, any weight at all aggravates it, just bodyweight hurts.
You guys, what do youse all do with pinched nerves, if you get them? I’m taking a lot of baths, walks, some otc pain meds, did some muscle relaxant even (they’re mildly mind altering so I don’t overdo those). There’s a good lumbar spine yoga routine I did the last time that I just remembered last night, I’m going to do that today.
Any tips? I’m frustrated, weak, eating my body weight and of course losing all gains. (I’m joking but I am seriously whiny!)
I hope you feel better soon. All what you mentioned sounds good to me.
I can’t think of anything else I would do other than what you are doing. Did the doctor recommend ice or a heating pad? I hope it un pinches itself soon! I’m sorry you are in so much pain
Thanks sweetie, I didn’t see a doc cos I’ve had pinched nerves before. I fare ok with heat. I’m ok painwise. It’s just so frustrating and such a lame thing.
Coming up to 9 months of sobriety , I haven’t been active in this community in quite some time , however I attend weekly AA meetings and have myself a sponsor , I have just started a Strong and Sculpted program recently have added exercise/ weight training and healthy eating, today I can’t move the bottom half of my body.
No pain , no gain
This journey has been amazing
Sounds like sciatica?
Core stabilizing/strengthening exercises will help support and ease pressure on the low back/hips. Additionally, stretching the upper leg and hip muscles will also ease tension in the low back.
Having dealt with a fucky back and hips for several years, these are some of what I did to keep pain at bay pre-surgery and now I still do as part of my daily mobility practices which has become a mix of physio/rehab stuff, general stretching, and yoga.
Also, alternating ice/heat on the lower back at the nerve origin.
I didn’t watch the actual videos so hopefully they don’t suck. Some of the vids were 7-8 min long to explain a simple stretch, I can’t imagine what the hell they talk about all that time.
Hope the pain gets better soon!
