Tis that time of year again, where some of us start decorating. We just got a new tree. For those of you counting…that makes…ummm, I have lost count!
When I lived in Germany, we used to put the tree on December 23rd, or even on the 24th!
I usually do the day after Thanksgiving and we decorate while snacking on leftovers.
I thought that was the ‘rule’ in the US, put the tree up after Thanksgiving
Edit: people here have included lit Christmas trees in their Halloween decorations, go figure
That’s awesome! I’ve never had a Christmas tree of my own. Definitely going to look into getting a Christmas tree pretty soon. It’s never too early to start celebrating the holiday season. Thanks for posting
I am hoping we hold off until Nov 1st. We shall see
My advent calendar for this year got delivered a month ago
It’s been displayed on my chest of drawers ever since.
Let us see it!!!
I don’t follow any rules. I have a Halloween tree and a Thanks/Gratitude Tree, neither up this year…I should be thinking about that.
@Thirdmonkey how did I know it was you starting a holiday decor thread in early October? Scott, the keeper of ten thousand christmas trees and I love it.
See ya’ll on December 1
I never put up a X-mas tree, cats and trees with things hanging on it are not compatible! Specially now with a two month old kitty in the house! If I’d put one up, it would be round the 20th of December!
It doesn’t look that christmassy, but they do sell out really quick. So last day of August I have a reminder in my calendar to check the online shop, they usually go on sale early September. And once it arrives it is on display, teasing me, making me giddy with anticipation for the colder months, my favourite season
It’s from Lush, the bathbomb shop. It makes my bedroom smell gorgeous. And the boxes make great storage for my crochet and crafting stuff when it’s empty. I do have quite the collection by now, each year has a new design.
I am not the keeper, that is Ms. Monkey…I just enable her!
Thats pretty!
And we decided to go with a star wars theme…
That’s exciting! I can’t wait to see all the trees
