Horror movies

Loved Fear Itself. Favorite episode was New Year’s Day.

Loved the “Creep Show” anthology movies. Favorite was “Something to Tide You Over” from 1 and “Hitch-Hiker” from 2.

If you love horror, check out the “Campfire Radio Theater” podcast. Great audio horror plays. My favorite is “Night Delivery”

I’m not a huge horror film. I think Children of the Corn scarred me as a child. LOL

I’m more of an Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Mothman Prophecies kind of scary film. Not super scary but just scary enough.

I do also like the Final Destination movies. I think the reason that they are “teen flicks” also makes them a little less scary than other ones.

Was 3 the one with the masks? It was not good.

3 was a departure from the Michael Myers storyline. “Season of the WItch” was about a conspiracy to make children crazy on Halloween night…and yes, it sucked.

The Michael Myers character and storyline are totally ommitted from H3. They were going to end his story at H2 and then have the Halloween franchise be an anthology series. But after it flopped, they brought back Myers in H4.

H3 isn’t terrible, but I just disregard it.

I have had this happen since I was a little kid. I think it is spiritual for sure. Cheryl Crow had a song called “The old HAG” talking about sleep paralysis and a demon. It’s scary when you can’t move and there is something right next to you it seems!

On another note I can’t wait to see the new HALLOWEEN in theaters. I think it’s going to be awesome and is the day after my birthday when it comes out! Did anyone like the new “It”?

The new Halloween is getting rave reviews, from what I hear – apparently a real “return to form” for the franchise. I’ll be going to see it the night it comes out.

I liked the new “It”. The only thing I didn’t like was all the CGI used for Pennywise. Wish they had just had a practical costume, no computer imaging. Tim Curry’s was vastly superior.

FYI, fellow sober horror fiends – I just saw a promo for a series AMC will start airing this Sunday night, “Eli Roth’s History of Horror”. Not sure if it’s airing outside of the US, though.

They interview all these people about classic horror movies, with stories about making them and analysis. Interviewees that I took note of (it was a quick commercial…) include Stephen King (obviously), Linda Blair, Robert Englund, Quentin Tarantino, Slash, Greg Nicotero, more. I’m hoping they got John Carpenter, but I didn’t see him.

So far only 3 episodes have been revealed: the first one about Zombie flicks, and then #2 and #3 are about slasher films. Not sure how many episodes total there will be, I can’t find much on it.

Looks to be an awesome series, I will certainly be catching it. Shame they didn’t film it before Romero passed away :frowning:

Had they billed it as just “Season of the Witch” rather than under the Halloween moniker, I would view it more favorably. However, I rate it as Carpenter’s worst film.

Right, agreed. It is not as bad if you view it as entirely separate from the Halloween franchise

I watched it twice, but probably won’t do so again. In other news, I’m fixin to watch Halloween 4+5 tonight. H4 has such an outstanding opening sequence. Perfectly captures the aesthetic of the season.

Love the Paranormal Activity movies. My daughter is home from college this weekend. Plan is to watch the new “It” movie. Was just talking to my younger daughter this morning about Stranger Things. Awesome, awesome series, especially if you’re a child of the 80’s like me. :spider::spider_web::skull_and_crossbones::radioactive:

Seven days till the new Halloween comes out. I will see this on the big screen.

Me too. GF and I are planning on going to see it the night it comes out. I’ve heard nothing but positive stuff about it.

Last year we saw the original Halloween and Halloween 2 as a double feature at the drive-in theater about an hour from here. So awesome. I hope they do it again.

Watched Tales From Halloween on Netflix. It’s a horror movie anthology, like tales from the crypt and Creep Show. Give it 4 out of 5 stars.
