Heck, I even liked Ghosts of Mars.
Iâm watching âThe Thingâ now hides under her blanket
One of my favs. The part where they autopsy is AWESOME.
The original? Awesome movie!
I had old hag syndrome TWICE last night. Itâs never happened twice before. Wouldnât wish it on my worst enemy!
Scarier than the first time I saw The ExorcistâŚ
Inspired. Got a meatball pizza, and Iâm going to watch The Thing, with my daughter.
Not horror but JCâs They Live. That is his best behind the obvious.
Top ten:
OG Halloween
Trik r treat
Saw 1-3
Friday the 13th 2-4
Sixth Sense
P2 (I use this for Xmas but still good)
Pet Semetary (Hide my eyes when Zelda is there)
Candyman
Hellraiser (1-3)
Suspiria
I do the same with Zelda. Seriously messed up . Wonder how sheâll turn out in the remake next year?
I watched both, old and new one. The old one is way better
Yeah, most of Kingâs stories involve a character with a drinking problem. His book and the TV version of The Shining makes it more obvious that Jack is an alcoholic.
Great thread. Iâve always been a huge horror fan. If Iâve watch a particular film a lot, I often give the book a go and watch making-of videos on YouTube.
Some of my fave films are:
- Halloween
- Youâre Next
- The Insidious series
- The Conjuring series
- Psycho
- When a Stranger Calls (original)
- The Exorcist
- Scream series
- Fear Itself (compilation)
Iâll need to come back and add more to this list hahaâŚ
FYI - for anyone looking for a new-ish horror film, I highly recommend âIt Followsâ.
I am generally very skeptical of newer horror moviesâŚusually the same recycled ideas or just utterly boring/predictableâŚbut âIt Followsâ is masterful.
Oh my god, I love It Follows!
Watching Friday the 13th now on Netflix and just had to laugh: Jared Padalecki is in this movie too and I just was like: Wow hey Sammy Winchester
This may not be considered a real horror movie but I just re-watched hocus pocus for the first time in ages and I love this movie
Also I consider this to be Sarah Jessica Parkers best role!
Hocus Pocus is a great October movie for the young at heart. A lot for the kids and adults alike. It Follows allegory is a modern classic. Very good.
Iâm a big sk fan, I went to a lecture/book signing he did at George Washington university in DC when Revival came out and he talked about it a bit. He said he was coming to terms with the fact that he was an alcoholic and coke addict when he was writing it. His first 2 books had sold well enough to finally get him out of poverty and he was drinking and getting high way too much. His wife kinda staged an intervention and he started going to AA after he showed up drunk to his kids little league game with a brown bag and the coach made him leave. When he got hit by that van he got addicted to Oxycontin for a couple years and he said it was part of the inspiration for the sequel (Dr. Sleep). Its about Danny grown up, hes an alcoholic and AA is a big part of the story, theyâre making a movie for it now, supposed to be out next year I think.
I started about the same time u did lol, yeah that one was good, the whole invisible to everyone else factor is what creeped me out the most lol. @SarahJ Youâre Next was way better than the reviews it got, that one was awesome right up to the credits lol. Insidious is awesome too, I used to scare the shit out of an ex gf out whistling tiny tim lmao, we had just moved in a house out in the country kinda back in the woods and her son had a stuffed giraffe in the corner of his room big enough that thing coulda hid behind. Shed start down the hall at night to go check on him and Iâd start whistling haha.
The best one to come out this year as far as Iâm concerned was A quiet place. Hereditary is pretty good and that new nicholas cage movie Mandy is too, its gory as hell lol.
Some of the more notable ones Iâve watched this year so far:
Last house on the left
Drag me to hell
The Belko Experiment
The Evil in us
Let Me In
Train to Busan
OG Dawn of the dead (best zombie movie of all time imo)
I hear Veronica, Raw, Tag, and Mother! are all gross enough people walked out of the theater on them so theyâre on my radar.
Happens to me all the time. Never heard anyone else who knew it was called THE OLD HAG
Couldnât believe it - it was as though the video paused, I was able to move, soaked in sweat, got up, had a drink of water, back to bed a little shaken, watched a bit of Youtube on the phone, dropped off⌠the video resumed. Itâs the âRingâ-like way âitâ slow, jerky, slow starts off at in shadows at the end or side of the bed and then crawls up next to you. Do you feel the movement of the bed as it climbs on it?
Twice in a row - Iâm surprised we donât end up with PTSD. No-one who hasnât had it would appreciate how fân terrifying it is.
