How alcohol is fucking my life up

Hi! I would like to introduce myself to this community. I’m Fernanda, 32 years old. I’ve never joined a community before so I’m new to express my feelings so open to everyone. But I think It can help me.
Alcohol is been around me for so long now…I don’t understand why I am not like other people that drinks. I become someone really bad, agressive and I can really hurt someone elses feelings, to the point that they leave. I’ve lost Friends, partners and at the moment going through a crisis with my partner that we have been together over 5 years. I can’t stand It anymore. Ive tried to stop drinking many times but there’s always something that makes me want to go back. Then I feel guilt, anger, sadness plus all the arguments that comes with It. It’s a real shit and I am the only responsable. My partner had left many times Because of this. And right now IS happening again. I said I Will stop with him or without him. I dont want my future to be like this. I have suffered enough and made people suffer.I need to stop. My grandmother was alcoholic, and my mum has problem with depresión and alcohol too. Why I follow the same paths? Thank you for taking a moment to read and I Hope here I can find people that can support me and also me to support others in this SHIT.

Welcome Fernanda.
I’m so happy you found us. You sound like so many of us here. I think you will fit right in. I found this place to be such a huge help in my sobriety. I try to be very active on here and it really does help to keep me sober. We do it One Day At A Time. ODAAT.

Have a good read around the forum. Find some threads you are comfortable with and join in when you are ready.

And I would read up about the disease of alcoholism. There’s so many books out there.

Here’s a good thread to get you going.
You are in the right place.

You got any questions at all there’s always a light on and someone happy to share their knowledge with you.

Hi and welcome!

I’m also 32 and I’m 24 days w/o alcohol, so I’m still a bit new to this. I’m glad that you found this community. I’ve found that checking in, either on this thread or a new one, every couple of days or so is super helpful. There are an abundance of people who are ready to give advice, encouragement, or just lend an ear.

I can’t wait to see how your journey to sobriety progresses!

@Fer3 Welcome to TS! I’ve also relapsed many times, even after recognizing the horrible consequences of alcohol and addiction. That all happened when I wasn’t active in this forum.

Today, I’m starting again—Day 2 without alcohol or any other drugs! :tada:

Welcome to the group . There is lots of great support and advice to be found here. It’s definitely the main reason I’ve made it the 73 days that I have. My advice to make the most of it here is to read and participate lots, reach out when you are struggling and do your best to listen when others try to help. I hope to see you around lots

Hi Fernanda,
So happy you’re here. This is the right place to be if you want to change your life for the better and stop drinking alcohol. This is where I came when I first made that decision and I’m SO glad I did. This community helps me through. It’s helpful and reassuring to know there are other people who know and have experienced similar to ourselves. The best thing to do here, I think, is to read a lot, share, reach out when you’re struggling, ask for help, help others and stay determined. Never forget why you’re here. Alcohol really is the worst. It ruins lives. For me, it causes horrible anxiety and depression. I also would lash out at the ones I love when I used to drink. I would say nasty things and would feel so much shame and regret. I’m so glad that’s all behind me now and I’ve learned sober life = my best life  Whenever I think about drinking again, I " play the tape all the way through " knowing the truth of what that decision would mean. Then, I come here instead and read and try to help others - which in turn helps me enormously. Wish you all the best. You’ve got this!
