Always black. For most of my life, any old brew would do, I didn’t care about variety, freshness, or brewing method.
These days, it’s my luxury. Each morning, I rise, boil water, freshly grind two scoops of beans into my french press, brew for 4 minutes, and drink it as soon as it cools. The flavour is incomparable to what I used to drink, and the ritual is soothing, especially the tactile component of grinding by hand with the burr grinder.
Ironically, I seem to spend less now, even though I buy more expensive coffee. I make exactly one medium-sized mug of coffee per day, instead of putting on a pot. I don’t feel like I need it to wake up. Buying coffee in smaller amounts also makes it easier to try new flavours all the time.
I prefer medium roasts, but appreciate light and dark roasts. I’ve got two Indonesian blends right now as my current favourites.
Not a lot. It has to be butter, not margarine. Put it in your coffee when it’s steeping hot and stir it really good.
As dark of roast as possible, little chocolate with ice. Cannot stand hot coffee!

1 tbsp grass fed butter and 1 tbsp of coconut oil. So good! If you put it in a blender or use a wand it turns out like a latte. It helps with focus as well as keeps you full.
I just picture you in a sitting room, with a fire burning in your 3 story fireplace, a wall book-shelf full of rare first editions, slowly sipping your expensive coffee and debating the latest in arts and literature with refined worldly gentleman. Also, you are wearing an expensive robe.
