I’m right there with ya on the smoking… I’ve already had two this morning knowing good and well that’s not a good thing to be doing to myself… I’m getting ready to go to work and I’m gonna maybe just not buy anymore… I hope this works because I’m having a very hard time putting that habit down… With the walking… I think many people would be surprised at how few steps they actually take in a day unless they have tracked it… At least I sure was… I thought it would have been far more for myself… If you feel up to it, go that same distance again plus 20 feet if you are able… Do that every day that you are able… I think you will see results… I have in my life… I also wanted to let you know that you don’t even have to have a tracker to use their app… You can manually enter walks and other exercises… You can track your food and fluid intake and use every feature they have for FREE… You can go with the paid exercise coach stuff but I’ve not graduated that far yet… If you want some good inspiration you can go on their online community and there you will see people who eat sleep and breathe good nutrition… You will see people who are really fit, many people who are showing amazing results and many who are trying to maintain… You can challenge yourself solo if that’s what you prefer… That’s the way I like to do it outside of challenging my kid’s… Like other’s here it has helped me so much!!! My little cousin has lost over 100 pounds just by dieting and walking… Maybe try adding in fruits and vegetables that are high in Vitamin A and especially C, especially at this time… You CAN do anything you set your mind to… Your progress is yours and should be measured in how far you go with it, please don’t forget that…
Added… I’m gonna look into the stop smoking links too… Thanks y’all
Grump or not it’s called being a compassionate human being. I’m sorry they did that to you. Maybe walk around the block in the other direction or just up the block and back. And don’t smoke while you are walking.
@Forged I quit smoking using Chantix. Maybe it could help you too. Do you think you could ask your doctor for a script for it? I had to smoke and take it for 2 weeks before I could quit but it really helped. Also check out my friend’s FB group Smoking Going Gone. Dale is very good with the mental part of quitting smoking. He is one of my quit buddies from the now defunct Quitnet. At least try some nicotine patches. The more oxygen you get the better you will feel. Walking will be easier when you are not gasping for air. Please keep us posted. We really do care.
@Forged I suggest using the 12 steps in your journey. If your HP can remove the obsession to drink surely he can stop you from eating a quart of Ben and Jerry’s each night.
Sugar free candies and cough drops have helped me with food cravings, also. Thanks for the reminder, I am going to start that again today! Cough drops especially because the menthol makes me not excited to eat anything for a while!
Yep keep us posted please bud I’ll even offer a screen name change as motivation
Joking aside if you have managed to put alcoholism in to remission then I’m sure that you can do the same with obesity.
I tried keto and it worked great but it wasn’t sustainable for me. I’ve had better success with a more balanced diet and portion control. Though this whole working from home thing is kinda messing with that. I’m trying to more exercise to compensate.
Yeah, you’re right. I found it hard to stick to. I’m doing more modified keto now. I try and limit shitty sugar, but still eat fruits and some breads. I lose at a slower pace but I feel it’s more sustainable.
