I have slipped after 3 years and I'm so scared and angry

I slipped too and am feeling so awful and crazy. I can’t live like this and am scared too!

PLEASE show yourself the same forgiveness you’d show another in your situation…we are human and with that unfortunately comes imperfection…be resilient and do what you do best…fight the good fight…one slip up doesn’t define us…you know you can do it…lots of support and understanding here! :hugs:

We are allowed to make mistakes. Can you remember what led you to this point? What may have caused the lapse in judgment?
The dread and fear are the anxiety affects after drinking. They will wear off. Let yourself cry and move forward.

Have you ever read the book by Annie Grace, This Naked Mind?

Because what I’m reading is that you’re still giving your addiction to alcohol value when it has no value whatsoever.

Since using has no value, why crave to begin with? Why make weak shanty’s? Why the voice to have just one sounds appealing? The fact is our DOC has no value. We’ve duped ourselves into thinking that it’s this amazing thing when our drug is simply playing tricks with our mind.

If one sees the addiction for what it really is, with the value equivalent to a piece of moldy bread, quitting and staying quit would not be so difficult. In fact, it’s actually easy.

But it’s so great that you’re back on track. Back to freedom. Continue to learn, and enjoy!
