I had posted recently about my situation. I am sitting in my car seriously thinking about picking up a bottle of vodka. Its one thing to deal with ones own issues another to have someone elses thrust upon you. Its too much
Dont know if you have a sponsor may be a phone call wish you well
You are only in control of you. Whoever foisted their situation your way just heave it back on over to their side.
One bottle of vodka can take you away. You have good sober days here. Drive on.
It is not too much.
What is happening now is you are thinking something like “I can’t deal with these cravings” and/or “I shouldn’t be having these cravings”.
That is false. Cravings come like rain comes. It is there sometimes, and sometimes not.
What you do now is hold onto the lifeline of sobriety and use your tools. Reach out (like you’re doing now). “Play the tape”: you know what happens after the first drink. Follow the script. You know where it ends.
Breathe: in, out, in, out. Count to 4, then again to 4, then again to 4. You can do anything for 4 seconds.
Nobodies problems are going to be solved by drinking. And yours will be much worse if you do. There will be no relieve and no reprieve found there. Don’t. You’re here. That’s good. You don’t want to do it. You don’t want to pick up that bottle Julia. That’s why you’re here. You need help, we all need help and we all need to help each other. Talk, distract, breathe, delay. Don’t drink
Don’t do this, please. Read your posts after the previous relapse. You are doing so amazing. Reach out to AA friends/anyone. Don’t let the situation take away your sobriety. The problem will only still be there, plus you will lose a good streak and have a hangover to boot.
Nothing will break you. This will pass. Give it time.
Just don’t pick up that booze.
Not now Julia…dont sabotage your sobriety because of someone else…it will not solve the issue and will only bring you further down…this is not the way to solve things and i think u know that now…keep talking we are all here for you
There is Nothing that isn’t made worse by picking up a drink.
I’m glad you reached out. It shows you know that is not the solution.
Keep talking here.
This too shall pass.
You can get through this. And you are by posting this.
Vodka wont solve shit and you’ll regret it

I hope you are still doing alright button. I’m so happy you didn’t pick up. Great job coming on here and letting some steam off.
We got your back.
Great job!!! You chose conflict resolution over self destruction!! I’m also learning it’s ok to confront issues I may have normally avoided in the past. Much respect!
I’m so pleased to hear you could talk things through and not give in to the cravings. You are doing so well on your sober journey and we are all here with and for you
Boom! Well done, you!
You also chose to come here and post when you were feeling weak. I have done the same. So have countless others. And the strength of this place carries us through those moments. Beautiful thing, hey?
Onward, friend. I hope you can just exhale, one of those deeply contented and affirming exhales. Your sober self and life thank you!
Heck yes! Perfect outcome. You ask for help, help is given and everyone stays sober today. Glad to hear it @Button83. Happy 100 today?
Postpone that decision until tomorrow when you wake up in the morning. You will have your answer
Damn it bring tears of joy into my eyes reading this. This is such a great forum. All the people who are more than just their addiction come together and help a stranger to get another sober day, and live a fulfilled and healthy life. If that isn’t beautiful community I don’t know what is. I’m glad you stayed sober @Button83 so nice to see what this forum is used for
