I relapsed and I’m feeling it bad bad

I relapsed and drank for two weeks. I stopped Monday. And OMG I feel like I’m dying this is no joke!! The throwing up. Palpitations. Sweating. Vivid dreams. I was even seeing things move in my room last night and hearing people talk. It’s so so scary. I just need this to pass. I came to work today and I can’t even think straight. :face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears:

I’m glad you came back here, Emily. Refocus and put everything into your health and sobriety. You know the ropes from going through rehab.
You can do this, :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Welcome Emilie :hugs:

The withdrawal symptoms sound intensive, maybe you can get some medical support?
Are you back from work?
Is it better?

Please drink plenty of water and eat enough!
You will get better day by day…
Keep checking in!

Hard to work in this condition.

Can you consult a doc spontaneous?
Do you have some supplements?
Especially minerals are very helpful.
And please get something nourishing to eat later.

Don’t worry about that…!

Congratulations on your Third Day. My last relapse 26 Days Ago had me thinking on my third day something is terribly wrong. Visual and Auditory Hallucinations, palpitations, throwing up/ heaving…AND THE MUSIC WTF…it wasn’t even music I LIKE   I felt as close to death than I ever want - I was told very very bad DTs, but made it without and ER visit. I journaled my experience in detail and when triggered or cravings read it. I’m doubled down deep in my program. Tonight you will feel better!!! Stay in touch and Proud if you for coming back

I meant to say, please go to the ER if needed. I know I needed medical assistance - I took a pretty horrible Risk.

I had moments when I drunk where I could see demons on the street inside people walking and water coming off the ground I was getting crazy at that time …
Your brain is very tired It’s not even an alarm because you ignored the signs its sent you before by keeping drinking Now it’s just not working
I’m not blaming you
I made some big change in my life because saying I’m not going to drink again wasn’t enough to stop
I did therapy
I stop seeing toxic people to my sobriety
I keep it simple on day at the time I come to this app and write on my daily journal every morning
Because I forget time to time that I decided to stop poisoning my Body with alcohol
I stay away from place who make my sobriety in danger
I implemented new healthy habits
And TRUST ME ON THAT my Life never been better!!!
I got my citizenship approved
I got my driver license
I have a beautiful and caring partner
I’m a crane operator and I make good money
I train every day and feel good about myself
Look at this guy if you want …he got great tips on his YouTube channel on who to start your journey

One last thing ONLY YOU CAN DO THIS NO ONE ELSE CAN HELP YOU MAKING THE DECISION
IF YOU CONTINUE ITS GOING TO GET WORSE YOU CAN DIE OR BEING MORE ADDICTED BUT THIS LIFE IS MISERABLE
IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOURSELF YOU WILL DO IT … NEVER GIVE UP PEACE

Relapse happens but it doesn’t have too. Remember all this. Next time, reach out for help before you pick up. Maybe spend more time on here:

Besides just not drinking, what are you doing to stay sober?

Yes the music! Lol. I had never heard this even happens. I did feel like I was dying or officially gone crazy. Or losing my hearing. I hope tonight is better.

I know those few days after a big session all too well. Try eat, plenty of water and sleep will evade you but try not to get frustrated by it. This will pass. Take some.notes of how you are feeling now and it will help you next time you are trying to resist the urge to drink. Couple of days and this will pass x

We are happy you’re here. You have gained some experience! When we are sober we don’t have the anxiety, the sweats and vivid (maybe scary) dreams. We can think straight and we don’t have to deal with the possible shame or guilt.

Just remember, you don’t have to do that anymore. You know? You don’t have to have the sweats, shakes and anxiety. Today you’re free to begin again!

You got this!

Ugh withdrawal symptoms are the worst! Sorry you’re going through that, but kudos to you for making the effort and pushing through! Stay hydrated. What helped me was pedialyte and lot of water and rest.

If it continues to be this bad then as others are saying, there is absolutely no shame in going to get help from your doctor! Or even immediate care. You’re doing what’s best for you by not drinking and I am sure they will understand that. I was having similar issues, the heart palpitations were the worst I felt like my heart was going to burst through my rib cage. Had heightened blood pressure. Night sweats. Body restlessness, fatigue. The list goes on. I went to the doctor and they were so kind and understanding. I couldn’t really do much but monitor, hydrate, and push through.

Sending support and positive thoughts your way! Imagine how much better you’ll start feeling within the upcoming days/weeks. It’ll all be worth it.

Try and find things you enjoy outside of alcohol to focus on.
