I’m 33 and for over a year (maybe two now) I’ve had one day periods. I had hormone panel done and am not in menopause. I used good ole chat GPT and it said alcohol binges can absolutely cause this. Has anyone on here had experience with quitting alcohol and periods regulating? And if so, how long did it take?
I think it’s different for everyone but quite a few of us have had period irregularities on our journey to sobriety. We’ve got a semi regular (sorry, that pun was accidental but I like it so it stands) thread about it here.
I know two things: alcohol doesn’t do your body and favors hormonally or otherwise.
And the only way out of that rough patch is through.
I’m 46 and have been having 2 periods a month for about 4 years. I started when I was still drinking but I only feel any clarity about it now that I’m ending my 3rd year sober.
Stick with us and keep talking it out. Periods, hormones and alcohol (and all addictions) offer their own unique set of challenges.
I like the pun lol, thank you. Yeah, I guess it is different for everyone. I don’t know why it shocks me that binge drinking every few weeks could cause one day periods but the face it throws off hormones does make sense. I’m going to hang on long enough this time to see if it makes a difference and also looked up some stuff to follow a hormone supporting diet.
