Urghhh. Day 15 was HARD!!!
Day 15 did the 50 then a small break and then the minute
Did 1 min 40 sec today. I am struggling with some preexisting injuries/weaknesses and I can’t seem to win. I believe I have a tear in my right shoulder, and so being on my elbows puts more pressure on my shoulder. But my wrist also is weak/arthritic and if I do straight arm my shoulder feels much better but I can’t do too long until my wrist hurts. I am thinking the solution might be to split the time between the two methods.
Day 15. Ouch.
I had a bad shoulder for awhile and found straight arm was better for me. I used to prefer forearm. Mix between or do however works for you. And keep in mind that you don’t want to reinjure yourself or make issues worse. Listen to your body 100%.
Thanks, Sassy. Agreed.
Just want you to be okay!!!
I am being careful! No worries. I just wanted to put it out there in case anyone else had similar issues at all. Switching it up is going to help me, I started that today.
I have almost the same injuries. Left shoulder and right wrist. I split the time and it worked out well. That’s my plan for the long time coming up also. You got it!!! Halfway through
Awesome!!! And yes, halfway through I go from straight arm down to my elbows.
@RosaCanDo @Runningfree @SassyRocks Sassy’s link to planking tips in the opening post had some other useful modifications. As we all start exploring our limits they can probably help
Whatever happens though we’ve gotta make time for the other plank too:
Excellent. The struggle n pain was worth it. Because it was all temporary. But the pride n accomplishment are permanent.
Day 16 is done Thank goodness for a book to read and form adjustments. It was rough, but today is done.
Yes, it helps immensely!!
Which reminds me that some of the strain is mental as opposed to physical.
Day 16 done.
Today’s planking had a lot of grunting and groaning in the last 30 seconds and ended with my wife saying (from upstairs), “Can you stop being so dramatic?”
I wish I could say I was being dramatic, love
Have a good day everyone!
Day 16. Done. Listened to music. That helped. At the gym. That helped.
Day 16 . 2 min is a real mental wall, but got it with deep breathing.
I have arthritis, well, all over. Forearms works for me, but in the past I have done straight arm gripping hand weights. It takes some of the strain off the wrists. Just a thought.
Day 15 done.
I’m a day behind. I had to take a few days off after a zoom “strength and core” class this week. Instructor half my age and about 18 times the normal amount of energy. It still hurts to laugh!
I thought this was PRANK challenge… oh am I in trouble.
Gonna be a regular here
