Legs swelling

So I just hit my 2 week sober mark and my ankles have swollen pretty bad… Is this withdrawal related

Not sure, but the National Health Service, in the UK, has a page with explanations and advice about what to do:

Hey There… congratulations on your new sobriety!! The swelling is quite possibly a result of withdrawal. The body retains excess fluids because you no longer have the alcohol which normally dehydrates that fluid when your body is half pickled :winking_face_with_tongue: I’m certainly no doctor but I would give your body time to adjust. I know my bathroom experience went from daily torture to a reliable quality time I now cherish. You will experience all sorts of changes, physically, mentally and spiritually. Enjoy the ride and be patient…. The miracle will happen :tada::flexed_biceps::face_blowing_a_kiss::tada:

It’s more likely a kidney issue. Swollen ankles are a common symptom of a kidney problem. Certainly could be related to withdrawal but I’m not a doctor. Keep an eye on it and if it doesn’t get better in a few days, I’d probably see a doctor. Best of luck and welcome.

I would definitely contact your doctor, and let the know about this edema can have multiple causes, and it’s definitely something that should be addressed by a professional. Only thing I would suggest ATM is cutting back on your sodium intake.
