Cheaper on the Rite Aid website
No wonder your beard is so luscious!
Itās kinda like sobrietyā¦tough in the beginning, but the rewards will be worth it in the end.
Yāall are cracking me up!!
I try to get to bed around 10:30, then generally do either a half hour of yoga in bed or listen to a guided meditation (also half hour)ā¦sometimes both if I cannot fall asleep. Screen off (phone) after yoga/meditation.
I am attempting to get more ānormalā sleep without a sleep aid. Doing so so with that. I find without an aid of some sort I donāt fall back to sleep very easily after getting up to peeā¦which activates all my insomnia BS I had for decades. I donāt particularly like taking Acetaminophen 500mg+25mg benadryl mix or anythingā¦but I do like to sleep. I have tried it all, thatās for sure. Medical marijuana gets me to sleep and allows me to fall back to sleep easily, but I donāt particularly like falling back on that either.
Anywayā¦will pop in and see how you are doing.
This stays here, shhhhhhhh! Itās a secret!..
Before Ms. Monkey Arrived, I would meditate and next thing I knew my alarm was going offā¦great sleep doing it that way is the best. However, Ms. Monkey chatters like a spider monkey, so melatonin is needed. Worth it tho.
I am in bed around 10pm, no phone with my unless my tiny phone that monitored my glycemia.
Funny story, been talking a lot in my sleep lately, I have off and on forever, but last night I said something like āwhereād he go? My mommy said to give him a kiss and my daddy said to shake his hand.ā Wtf. I donāt even call my parents that.
The brain is a strange part of the body
The sleep talking I am reminded of most often was when I rolled over and very earnestly said āto be an expert in all thingsā
Great idea for a thread, we were just talking about sorting out our bedtime routine earlier. Am hoping it would help me get my mornings back on track.
Iām thinking along the lines of TV off at 9pm for yoga, tidy up kitchen (I donāt think I will ever be the type of person that clears up straight after dinner ) and then up to bed by 10pm, read for a bit. Should be asleep by 10:30/11pm.
When I was closer to the time I worked I used to run meetings and do presentations in my sleep. A lot.
Oh I wish melatonin worked for me. I have tried all various types and doses. Much like valerian, it makes my brain chatter all nightā¦which I cannot abide. I am so glad it works for you tho!!
Marijuana was never an issue for me. I smoked a little in the late 70s, but that type of high was not my thing, so after a few times getting high as a sophomore in high school, that was it for me. I hate that weird high, messes with my brain. Like tripping.
The medical was a lifesaver for my insomnia when it was really bad. I got a prescription several years ago. After quitting smoking cigarettes after decades of smoking, I protect my lungs, so gels and tinctures ā¦both slow actingā¦worked for sleep and I never abused it.
But like I said, I donāt like relying on any sleep aid. And I switched over to benadryl/Acetaminophen mix. My doctor tells me benadryl has long term issues, so that sucks.
I have been working on the sleep thing for quite some time. Feel in a fairly good place after abusing Ambien for many years back in the early 2000sā¦another reason I work toward natural sleep/ no aid. The yoga, physical activity and meditation help a lot.
Sorry you relapsed because of/on marijuana. At least you know now that is not an option for you.
Currently working 2 jobs at the moments, so i only get about 5 hours of sleep a night during the week. up at 5am to get to the first one, which is 6am-2pm, once Iām off I drive to the next one, which is 3pm-9pm (sometimes I leave at 8:30 ) go straight to the gym, workout from about 9:15-10:45, get home by 11, shower, get my things ready for the next day, and itās lights out by 12. Sometimes 12:30. Weekends Iām off my first job so Iām able to sleep in until 8-9am
I smoked a lot of dope many many years ago. It never once helped me sleep. It Always got me wired.
But that never stopped me from smoking before bed. Viscous stupid addiction cycle. Like hangovers. I knew I was going to get a bad hangover but I drank anyway.
I need a nap after reading your schedule!! You sound very dedicated.
About 3 years ago, I got the TVs out of all the bedrooms, mine included, and gave them to the thrift store. I also gave my laptop to my son-in-law and bought a desktop computer. When you have depression, those electronics can keep you in bed all day. I almost never have my phone in bed at night, but I occasionally do.
One of my favorite things is sleep. Iāve had insomnia for most of my life, so I practice sleep hygiene and it really helps.
It doesnāt work for me, either!
iām an old lady. iām ready for a book and bed by 9PM and up at 6AM ready for the day. its my life calling to get a good nights sleep.
