March 2021 Yoga Accountability

I did day 4 but then came down with a sickness bug so haven’t been doing anything for the last couple of days. Think today will be another very light movement day, but hoping to get back to yoga tomorrow!

Did some morning anusara yoga. I twisted my ankle on a hike yesterday and was a bit, well, let’s see. And I am always fascinated that in yoga almost everything is possible, I get aware of how much is still possible w/o forcing and pain. When I had my shoulder /cervical spine problems three months ago I could go on doing some yoga and on the same time not being able to close my bra :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::pray:

So I am back to yoga! Sickness bug took longer to get over than expected and I lost quite a lot of weight, so didn’t want to start exercising too soon. Appetite is mainly back now though so getting back to it. Just did a 15 minute morning yoga from Adriene, easing into it.

11-17 done!

Glad you’re feeling better

I8 and 19 done.
I started a new 30 day program.
It’s called Love yoga by, Ali Kamenova.
So many planks, but it’s really nice.

I was so motivated in February, I felt amazing! lately I’m just really anxious and overthinking. I’m trying to carry my confidence through March and into April.
Today I feel good. Today i feel strong.

I went to a yoga class yesterday, my gym opened up inside (they were outside previously).

So I signed up for the class and got there early. Turns out I was the only one that would show up! I basically got a one on one hour long yoga session. I’m pretty new to it so this was scary :fearful:. However it went pretty well! I’m excited to keep taking the class

That has happened to me twice! One of the classes was really amazing and the instructor pushed me really hard and I felt amazing. One was awkward
… still pretty cool though.

Lol what was awkward about it?? lol I can only imagine!

Fortunately this instructor was very friendly and very mellow. Like she wasn’t intensely trying to get me to form into a pretzel lol

With my gym & Covid we need to sign up online for the class so I can check in the future how many spots are taken. But if it’s with this woman again, I’m definitely going regardless :dizzy:

Side note, the 3 legged downward dog is so exhausting! I want to get better at this but I feel like my muscles will always get in the way no matter how much I practice… that’s not a low key brag lol I just can’t see my leg being able to extend straight in the air with a bigger butt  any tips?

I went to the class and she asked me what we should do… it was nice just weird. Haha!

The more open you allow your chest to be, the higher up your leg will go. Just make sure your shoulder blades are relaxing down the back, and your focus is on bringing your heart center lower. You can experiment with the narrowness of your down dog as well.
I totally understand the bigger butt situation. Haha!

Ok I took another week off as I wasn’t quite back to normal and I just got out of routine etc. Up and at it this morning though. Just did a 20 minute gentle morning yoga sequence from YWA. One of her older videos, it’s interesting to see how her style has evolved over time. Anyway, a nice slow, low practice.
