I did another Tonglen Compassion Meditaton last night. For anyone who is having a heavy heart right now this is an excellent way to filter energy.
I will link a good one to start with but there are many others. This one explains everything very well.

10 min guided mediation thru Balance App. Struggled ALOT today to stay present honestly. I had to really work at it when I have always been told that meditation is an experience and to not try to be “perfect” at it. After my morning appt at 930am I will try maybe a diff type of meditation
I sent you a suggestion on Insight Timer.
Small attainable goals…
Maybe for now a guided visualization will be good to keep your mind occupied. We need to train our minds. So short times, multiple times a day and guided visuals.

I’ve been doing this meditation mostly guided forever now. And it’s almost impossible for my mind not to wonder at the beginning. Shit sometimes in the middle. It use to frustrate the hell out of me. And then one of “my guys” told me. Let it happen. It’s ok. It’s gonna happen. And while it’s happening, slowly and calmly get back to your breathing. There’s no rush.

I listened to a beautiful 4 min butterfly visualization that @Its_me_Stella suggested. I didn’t think that in 4 min or so, I would have been impacted the way that I was.
When I was a little girl, I found an injured monarch butterfly (i have always had a conmection in some way with butterflies). I was outside and I picked it up and I knew what it needed. I wanted to help. I brought the butterfly into the house and I fed it and took care of it. The butterfly did pass away over night… but the point of what I’m trying to say is that this visualization brought me back to when I was as a little girl. I was sitting on the grass, my back against a tree. I heard the children play and I instantly thot of my inner child. And I smiled. And then the butterfly staying close on my hand and me knowing what it needed bcuz I was still and I listened. And then helping the butterfly to get what it needed, brought me back to that moment. I have a very poor memory so remembering this moment, brought me to tears of happiness. I think it means that I need to sit still sometimes and listen to what that little girl inside needs. To literally ask her, what do you need? How do you feel? And start respecting and nourishing that part of me

I love a good short meditation once and awhile. Sometimes that’s all you need.
I have always hated working out. I use to sit in the Golds Gym and use my 5 minute “immediate shit” meditation before I went in. It was just what I needed. We always have 5 minutes.
