If you havenât checked out BrenĂ© Brownâs work around shame and vulnerability, I highly recommend it. She addresses our tendency to compare our shame/trama with othersâ and debunks that idea - your trauma and pain is your own and it is not relative to anotherâs. I think the quote she references is something like âour problems are the most important because theyâre ours.â I guess my point is donât downplay your suffering in comparison to others. Feel your feelings, work on healing and getting through the muck while protecting your sobriety. Her podcast is called Unlocking Us. Check it out the episode from March 27. Sending strength and love
I have likely already posted this here, but it is worth an additional nod IMHO. I have been picking thru this book as it requires sitting with.
The Body is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self Love by Sonya Renee Taylor.
Her list of Unapologetic Agreements is worth the price alone. Her work is housed in a book with a cover that is powerful and stunning.
Strong vibes for anyone interested in healing our selves and our world through self love.
This was me yesterday!!
I love this !
Thanks for the reminder! I want to read this, and I first heard about it on BBâs Unlocking Us Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/unlocking-us-with-brenĂ©-brown/id1494350511?i=1000491417626
It was a wonderful interview between Brené Brown and Sonya Renee Taylor. I just got in the queue at my library for the book.
A friend just sent me this link as well! Seriously, the Unapologetic agreements in the book were like a big yes, yes and a lightbulb all at once for me.
