Useless metal fact of the day.
For Whom the bell tolls by Metallica was intentionally tuned Sharp to match the bell pitch.
It’s misleading because back in the day analog recordings often got sped up in production causing a similar effect… this time it was intentional

At the one pub I used to go to I used to play the Dopesmoker album by Sleep on the jukebox. Nearly an hour long it is technically just one song. Usually the bartender would have to shut it off 10 minutes in after he would receive a bunch of complaints:joy:

It sounds like one riff. But it’s actually multiple riff sections over the course of an hour. All with distinct names. The whole song is literal art and they have a blueprint of everything they wrote, all the solos, etc.

Saw them at croc rock here in Allentown years ago and once at Mayhem festival. They always put on a great show. Haven’t heard any of the new stuff since the lead singer got out of prison though.

yeah I watched them support iron maiden which was a bit of a shock at the time bc I already liked anthrax and didn’t know who the support band was and I was in awe of it all and just stood at the front staring while everyone else was head banging then the guitarist pointed at me and gestured for me to livin up, I’m pointing at my self saying you talking to me and he’s like yeah but then gave up on me bc I was then even more in awe and couldn’t move at all
