Jul. 4th mind blowing random thought of the day: On July 4, 1999, more than 100 people gathered in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to appear in a photo together, all of whom were born on the 4th of July, one born each year from 1900 to 1999, including a newborn baby who had been born earlier that morning.

I wonder what the regional differences are on this. In BC I’ve only ever heard them called cougars, I hear the other names in movies and internet conversations.

The last catamount in Vermont was killed and stuffed in the 19th century.

I’ve heard that they have a lot more names than that. Haven’t gone through the effort to find all of them though.

Well based on where I lived…Colorado/Wyoming it was mountain Lion, California was puma, Ohio/Michigan/Florida was cougar. Rhode Island…i cant remember

Jul. 9th mind blowing random thought of the day: When he was 26, famed basketball player “Pistol Pete” Maravich said in an interview that he didn’t want to play in the NBA for 10 years only to later die of a heart attack at the age of 40. He went on to play in the NBA for 10 years and then later died of a heart attack at the age of 40.
