Jan. 11th mind blowing random thought of the day: Manta ray tourism brings Indonesia an average of $1 million during the lifetime of a single fish, but only $500 for one that is dead. For this reason, the government has made fishing them illegal, making the country the largest manta ray sanctuary in the world.

Jan. 12th mind blowing random thought of the day: In 1780, Elizabeth Freeman became the first black slave to file suit in court and win her freedom. This helped end slavery altogether in Massachusetts on the basis that the newly signed state constitution declared that “All men are born free and equal.”
