Morning routines anyone?!

How do you have this much time in the mornings? :joy:
I do well when I get up, get ready for work, feed and let out the dog real quick and head to work.

I have to add I am not a morning person. I wish I was, I admire the people who can get up and be ready to start the day. I’ve tried different things but I have read it’s genetic, and my grandma and mother are the same :upside_down_face:

I try to be in bed by 9:45 PM. I read for 15-30 minutes, more often I am pretty drowsy after 10 minutes, and I don’t fight it.

I do the same. I actually start going to bed at like 9 and then I read till 10 or 10:30. But I can’t seem to get up in the mornings. It’s a constant struggle in my fiance tries to help me get up but most days I can’t get up until 7 or 7:30. :disappointed: Any advice or tricks to make getting out of bed easier? I know part of it is a shitty sleep but but we’re trying to get it under control now with a new medication.

I’m in the middle of my sidekick journal at the moment. Trying to nail down this morning routine and include a workout :grimacing:. It’ll be cool knowing someone else is working on their own routine when I’m struggling. You totally got this!

Neuroplasticity. Everyone can change! Alcoholism runs heavily in my family and it’s destroyed almost all of my ancestors lives. I chose to the the first one to get sober and enjoy life as a result. You can be the first one to tackle the morning.

As mentioned earlier, I’d highly recommend the morning journal sidekick on amazon. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for sharing your world with us!

That’s amazing? Where do you have pool access? A local gym? They are always so crowded in the city.

There’s an alarm clock app that makes you solve math problems to snooze :joy:. I used that for awhile.

I write weekly workout guides which helps, that along with work keeps me in a routine. Plus food planning is helpful and gives me something to look forward to on tasty food days too.
Mornings can be tricky for me as my work phone has a mind of its own and can occassionally start going off at 6 which SUCKS

Being retired helps. Especially during Rona.
But. When I worked in the restaurant business I would get up an hour earlier than need be. I’m sure it sounds crazy but I do that so I can have my morning ritual. Some people just can’t do that. Like my wife thinks I’m nuts if I wake up a 5 and don’t go back to bed. She’ll always take the extra sleep.

I think the main thing is to have some kind of routine for just yourself whether it be morning time of after lunch or carve out an hour or 30 minutes just to sit and reflect and or pray and do devotionals or just have a quiet time for yourself. It’s worth it and your worth it.
Not always easy to do.
:pray:t2::heart:

Oh God :joy: I might throw my phone across the room.

I live in the capital of New Zealand - Wellington. We have about 5 public pools here which is a lot for such a small city. It means the pools are never over crowded no matter what time you go  I usually go at about 6am. Its the best way to start your day!

My routine has been the same for the last 3.5 years almost without fail.

Wake up 1 hour before I have to leave
Get a cup of coffee from the kurig
Get my vape
Reflect on the day before (10 step).

this has worked for me so far. If it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it😉

I’m surprised you asked. Perpetual positivity seems to be the name of the game around these parts.

Honestly I try very hard to be and stay positive. I can’t help it. I generally hate the day I’m facing at present. I never lean in. Maybe I should. Maybe it would help. You know? Acceptance.

But I look all throughout the day for anything, ANYTHING AT ALL, that might get me through and sometimes it works.

Thanks for asking dear .

John Oliver. A lot of the late night people. Seth, Stephen, they’re all in there. Some bon appetit. Emmy and Maangchi. Of course furry, feathered and all friends scaled.

But a lot of it just the random breakfast YouTube has decided to serve me that morning.
