BlackkKlansman (Netflix)

This is one of the best Iā€™ve seen in a while. Awesome actors, ingenious plot, and Daniel Craigā€™s ā€œKentucky Fried Foghorn Leghorn accentā€ is a hoot!

ā€œI thought I found the hole for this particular doughnut, but it was just a smaller doughnut with a hole of itā€™s ownā€¦ā€

I feel you, Benoit. Feel ya.

That was a great one!! Saw that at the movie theater back when you could go to one :grimacing:

Separate note. Have you ever seen The World According To Garp? There was an article I read about it yesterday. The story was written by John Irving. It kind of shows how we havenā€™t really made much progress on those things in the last 40 years. Great movie. Iā€™m going to watch it again after I knock out my Oscar best picture list.

9/10

I fell asleep the other night during Mank. I liked it so far, just shouldnā€™t have started a movie I was beat.

Loved the look and feel of it.

I really liked this movie. Intense and interesting. I will say though, Iā€™m not sold on John David Washington yet. Heā€™s got potential but I just donā€™t feel like weā€™ve seen him find his mold yet, if that makes sense? idk, Iā€™m probably being too critical of him but on the other hand, I think Adam Driver is overrated :grimacing:

Yes, I watched it but like 15-20 years ago. I will definitely re-watch it, thanks for the idea!

Yeah, I agree about Driver, he seems to be overrated, yet he chooses the movies to play in with good taste.

I also really enjoyed this one.

Although Sacha Baron Cohenā€™s Boston accent as Abbie Hoffman was a bit cringe at times.

One of my favorite books. Irving is one of my favorite fiction authors if you like to read. Prayer for Owen Meany is also fantastic.

Oh I loved that book. Also because it takes place right where I grew up as a child. I read it so long ago. I bet I could read it again and itā€™d all be new to me. Iā€™m having a hard time getting into reading books again for some reason. Iā€™m doing a reread of Lamb. By Christopher Moore. I loved it first time I read it so long ago. And Iā€™m liking it again. Nothing wrong with rereading books youā€™ve read 20 plus years ago right? I always thought why would you reread a book you already read? I guess we listen to the same song over and over again.

Iā€™ve reread certain books too. Kinda like watching your favorite movie over and over again.

John Lithgow is absolutely one of my favorite actors. I mean they were all good in that movie. Be heā€™s phenomenal. I got 3 more Oscar Nominated movies to plough through. Then I plan on watching Garp again. I think weā€™ll probably do Sound of Metal Saturday night.

I just checked out the trailer of Sound of metal, it seems tough and deep.

Preview looks good. I never heard of this one. For some reason I donā€™t watch many Robert Downy Jr movies. No reason. Iā€™ll add this to my list. It doesnā€™t look too violent or anything. My wife doesnā€™t like the graphic violence movies. I donā€™t care for them either. She cannot watch any Tarantino movies with me. But I did get her to watch Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. She loved it. My daughter cleared it for her.

If you want to watch an absolute non-violent Downey-movie, you can try ā€˜Chaplinā€™ (if you havenā€™t). Really well-written, well-played, well-shot.

Oh. That looks great!! I never heard of that one either. Thank you very much. And we both love Dan Ackroyd. We try and have a movie night at least once a week. Ever since this pandemic shit we havenā€™t gone to a movie theatre.
Cool.
