Movies Check-in / Reviews šŸ“¼

Iā€™ve seen it and itā€™s actually really good! I think youā€™ll enjoy it =)

Also just finished watching Chicago 7 and wow, what a film! Enjoyed it from beginning to end. I hope it wins an award.

So far I think itā€™s the best one. But the Academy awards didnā€™t ask me. You just never know what theyā€™ll pic. I think Chicago 7 and Promising Young Woman might be too political and theyā€™ll go for Minari, Mank or Nomadland land which are good but kind of a snore :zzz:
I like Chicago 7 for best pic.
But I would really like the message in Promising Young Woman get the Oscar.

Just started with this. :zipper_mouth_face::scream:

Gonna watch this today. RDJ has always been on my radar ever since Weird Science. I miss his skills before Iron Man but he did a phenomenal job at that character also.

I know this movie is quite old (just look at the ā€œvideocassette and laser discā€ availability) but it still holds up in my eyes as one the funniest, heartfelt romantic comedies Iā€™ve ever seen. Big Business was my first of hers and as as kid Hocus Pocus was my go to Halloween movie outside of Nightmare Before Christmas for obvious reasons. What I personally really enjoyed about this movie is the chemistry between Midler and (the late) Denis Farina. They were absolutely hysterical as a bickering pair of adults. I still find it funny to this day because it is relatable to anyone who has been in and out of love with the love of their life. Great date night movie for a any couple new or experienced and even aged older and younger. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do =)

Never heard of this one either. My list of movies is growing. I love Bette Midler. Sheā€™s funny on Twitter. I saw her live in Vegas. I didnā€™t know what to expect. I was not disappointed she is an incredible lady.

Just watched

I thought it was real good. Itā€™s got some good messages in there for people in recovery too. I think itā€™s my third favorite of the best picture nominations. My wife thinks it was as good as The Chicago 7.

Anyone have suggestions for horror movies?!?!

Hereā€™s a very interesting one related to emotions Etc. Easily relatable to addiction. Although itā€™s a fun thread, you should watch it.

Watched Sound of Metal and Chicago 7 this weekend. Both very good. So odd to see Sacha playing a role that isnā€™t Borat! Iā€™m tackling Mank tonight.

One of the best films Iā€™ve ever seen, and definitely the best recovery picture ever! Stars the always great Joaquin Phoenix and Jonah Hill like youā€™ve never seen him. Seriously, I didnā€™t know it was Hill at first.

I have only watched about half the first season but can say without a doubt, almost to a T of the first book. Absolutely incredible adaptation. Howeverā€¦ after the third season, I heard it started to deviate from the books which is fine but for me, I could do without watching it. GRRM writes in such a poetic way that learning about characters and reading their journey is like dessert before dinner.

The books are amazing. The show I heard was remarkable until the final season? For the story alone, I encourage anyone who can to watch the first season on HBO if they would rather not read the book. Captivating storytelling.

Gotta be honest, I havenā€™t even finished Dance w/ Dragons because the other books havenā€™t been written :rofl: :rofl: Iā€™m like 400 pages from the end!

I am genuinely curious is GRRM wrote the HBO ending or if he just produced/editedā€¦ The way season seven ended (I only watched the last two episodes), the story didnā€™t feel like the style I had read. Donā€™t get me wrong it was entertaining and fun but it was lacking that HOLY F**KNā€™ SHIT factor. I mean the end of Storm of Swords is one of the greatest endings I have ever read!! idk man, this is just how I saw it.
