Having a little fun making some garage rock today.
After a 19 month hiatus, my partner and I got together this past week and wrote 2 new songs.
Hereās one of them
Thatās really beautiful! My cat even liked it, she usually runs when I play music,
Thanks! And kitty approved!!!
I agree with Donna, itās beautiful!!
Doggo approved too. Mine stayed on my lap and didnāt howl.
I love live music for that reason,
Music is a living breathing thing, when the audience is vibing with you, you make a mistake you move on, you can change things up, itās fun.
In the studio Iām a snob perfectionist, my one friend used to put a time limit on me cause Left to my own menses, Iāll be there all night cause I didnāt like the way I struck that note or I shouldnāt have played legato here, blah blah blah
He said to me, you get 3 takes, you play you. We take the best one the end
This song was definitely NOT inspired by TOOLā¦

Life is interstitial with superficial memory
Quantum engineering the basis for societies
fire brings the day light of nothing yet reborn
Complicated nuance holds the ire of the scorned
Then I runā¦
Run away from the contracts
A little wave before the dire conversation
Blown away by the context
Find solutions in the mass persuasion
Time to pay forā¦
Before weāre done forā¦
Iām nothing and im here for your pleasure
Time melts down
Ride the wave down
I am trapped in your head now
Hold me, fold me
Torn;
I was a visible metaphor
Inside illusion you drown
Catch me gasping for air
pour me, scold me
no!
Foment. Passion. Beautiful.
Until it all comes crashing down
Always await the moment
Know time is a waste for you
Embrace then levitate above this
Iām fallen next to you
(Join me)
Hold me, fold me
Torn;
I was a visible metaphor
Inside illusion you drown
Catch me gasping for air
pour me, scold me
no!
Foment. Passion. Beautiful.
Until it all comes crashing down
Side note: I recorded this yesterday and while I am not 100% done (happy), I probably wonāt get a chance to finish it anytime soonā¦ so here it is, about 80% done.
Like most songs, Iāve been working on this for what feels like forever. And like most songs, I get to point where itās almost done and I quit working on it and itās never āfinishedā. I doubt Iāll continue working on this one. Despite all that, crank this one to 11!!
Sounds great and āfinishedā to me. I think every artist experiences āunfinishedā work. Us outsiders know no better.
I started writing this song a few months ago, wanting to get back to my main vision of my music. Iāve never been able to finish it though, someday perhaps.
Lyrics:
Live by the word
Be faithful to me
And I will befall
A lifetime to be
Always the same
Weāre never alone
I will remember
To find my way back home
The long road we go
Even as we crawl
Iāll always surrender
'cause time moves us all
Most weekends, I spend my nights writing/recording music. Last night was no different, I turned the lights low, turned on the disco ball and just let my guitar do the talking. This is what came out.
I wrote this song a couple months ago. It is an amalgamation of lyrics I wrote a while back and improv.
I tried some different recording and production techniques too. Rock n Roll!
I wrote this song today, itās about addiction, love and death. Itās not my story, but someone close who lost their battle with addiction.
Since today is day light savings, figured it was appropriate to share this song.
Time is the Enemy!
Let me tell you what happens with unfinished you end up like me. Totally tweaking things till the end of time
I watched some videos on YT on song writing, some suggestions were to spend more time doing what youāre not good at.
For me, thatās writing lyrics.
The other suggestion was to write when your not inspired. Sit down, and just write. Might be ok, might be bad. It all wonāt be great.
And then make time to write every day. Schedule the time so you have no excuse.
So, Iāve been trying those and Iām getting there, and I think itās getting easier too.
So all this mean more completed songs.
Like I said you want some collabs let me know,
Iām learning how to be a better producer now lol, back in the day when YouTube became the go to to learn songs ultimate guitar offered a lifetime pro subscription for like 25 bucks I still use it, they have courses now that I been taking on garage band audacity and all I got my moneys worth years ago
I loved it! Thank you for sharing! Please keep posting more.
So time is the enemy is pretty fucking bad ass,
I find it ironic you live in the PNW the birthplace of grunge and so many of your songs have that feel, I fucking love it.
Keep Grunge Alive
So. First time listening to your music and it gets me fired up. I like it a lot. You play all the parts Iām guessing and thatās awesome. Thatās what my husband does with bass and drums (bass is new for him) and Iām starting to lay some piano tracks now. I like your vocals a lot! Thereās power there. I love to sing but my voice is weak. Just wanted to say I really dig what youāre doing.
