So here’s what I do on a sober Saturday evening, write stupid breakup with alcohol songs. I threw this together in like 20 minutes, so, not so good.

I had a little phase a few years ago where i wrote a lot. I wrote one about a guy that od. After watching an hbo documentary on heroin called bear. Long and short is his parents found all of his gear in his childhood teddy bear.
Of everything I’ve written that’s my favorite but i worry that the subject matter may cause somebody here some stress

I think it’s amazing when people can write their own music! I used to write a lot of poetry but only once collaberating with my musician friend did I do anything I could put music to. Super awesome talent! If you have a link to where it could he listened to you could PM me, I would love to hear it.

Yeah it’s a heavy tune. But i like it more than most of what I’ve written
I was given a gift certificate for voice lessons this Christmas, and despite the anxiety, I start my first tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what to expect?
Will I survive?

I’m sure you will do great! I’ve never done voice lessons but always wanted to, so I’m not honestly sure what to expect but I bet it’ll be awesome!!

It went pretty well. She asked a few questions getting to know me and my goals (I’m just exploring but want to do it right), we did a few warm up exercises, then a little bit of assessment in various areas to inform how to approach future lessons, and finished up with an exercise I’m to practice at home.

Awesome thread. So inspiring:) Music is my biggest passion. I used to be a vocalist in a rock band many moons ago but these days I’m a little more shy…I might contribute something later and for now I will just enjoy the talents of you fine folk lol
