Neighborhood Coffeehouse Gos-Sipping

Made 2 capachinos earlier, wifey was well impressed and hinted that I may be on a promise in the next 24 months or so , as long as the Coffee keeps coming.

Who can say that good Coffee doesn’t have its benefits , but I’m still not holding my breath.

@Scorpn can you make hot milk without throth with the aforesaid nozzle or do I have to heat is seperatly?

Thanks for this tip.
I knew that. But…… the settings on my new machine must be different. I went to a much coarser grind this morning and got a lovely frothy gorgeous double espresso. I always thought it had to be a fine grind. And I guess all machines are different even if they are both Breville’s.

If you have a milk steamer attached to the machine, you should aerate it because if you dont it can scald the milk (if it is screaming its scalding)

So if you dont want foam, either hold it back after youve steamed the milk with a spoon when pouring, tap the pitcher you heated it in against the counter a few times to separate the foam, or just warm it in the microwave or the stove to avoid the froth

I actually really like the Nescafe instant espresso. Im not much of an instant coffee kind of gal but the instant espresso is actually very good!!

I also like the aldi brand  have you ever tried it?
One of the only ones ive been able to make strong without it being overly bitter…

No i havent tried that brand! Ill have to look into that  I wonder if i can get it at Walmart. Is it already ground?

I meant Aldi store brand.
Is Aldi a store where you live?
Most of what they offer isn’t ā€œname brandā€ but a lot of times i prefer it to the big names :slightly_smiling_face:

Since i cant upload a screenshot without downloading another picture maker and uploading and editing it there… heres a link

Not often. But I do keep this in the house. Just in case I need a quickie in the afternoon. But it’s been awhile.

I have a Bialetti Kitty Espresso maker. A French Press. Different beans.
My preference. My store brand Classic Roast instant, Product of Mexico. :mexico: 100% Pure Coffee.
I love it, make it strong. Love the taste.
Plus in one minute it’s ready. Ok 1.30 minutes. From the time I take the cup off the shelf until the time I’m drinking it.
Also, on occasion, in the afternoon or if I have a headache, I will put it in some almond milk, and that is delicious.
One cup to clean also.

I wish i could be like you! i an very much a lose my coffee and have to make another cup halfway through kind of person.
I do eventually find (and drink) all of the half cups, but then i have many dishes haha

Ps. I have also recently moved to almond milk from oat milk. And have been happy with the flavor  (sometimes i add splenda or sugar free syrups also these days)

One of the girls has decided that she needs a daily before school coffee run
And she has been buying me coffees this week :face_holding_back_tears:

On the coffee snob scale ..
I’d give Dunkin a 4/10

It’s hit or miss. But you can’t argue with

  1. on the way to school
  2. Free

Hey my fellow sober coffee lovers and caffeine addicts, oh wait they’re the same thing :roll_eyes::joy:

As you may know I’ve been in and out of hospital like a fucking yo-you and their coffee is wank with a capital wank.

So I’ve been treating myself when I’m home. I finally splashed out and bought a pressure espresso maker with milk frother
To go with it I’ve bought some Skull Crusher coffee and some Devils Roast, 500g from a London company called ā€˜Grind’ and 750g of ā€œGrano Milano Ground Coffee Espresso Forte Arabica and Robusta Made in Italyā€ from amazon and it’s surprising very very good, not too bitter just a rounded flavour and pretty high in caffeine.

I think we need to resurrect this thread.
So, I’ve finally bookmarked it, lost all my BMs in the fiasco which is the new version of the app :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

So, @SoberGuyUSA @Scorpn and @Alisa @BobT @Mno and @Butterflymoonwoman I hope you’re all well and observing our daily ritual several times a day :joy:
@bluekoolaid_88 your welcome to the the party

Sorry you’ve been sick

That sounds like a fancy machine! And devils roast seems right up my alley

I’m here for this thread whenever and also have it book marked

And as far as ā€œobserving our daily ritualā€
Yesterday I went to get a coffee with one of my kids. She left her phone and we realized when we got home. (5 min drive) And when we went back to get her phone I got another coffee for the ride :joy:
(They were just espresso, water, ice or "Americano"s)

Happy Tuesday coffee snobs :two_hearts::grin:

Good to hear from you and thanks for the advice. I’ve been enjoying my normal brew but it is not so exotic!

One week until the movers show up. Things are mighty tense around here…

Drink more, much more coffee, it’s always the answer :joy:
Hope the move goes well and you and your possessions get to where you’re going to intact :folded_hands:
